We watched Taking Woodstock a few days ago and enjoyed it. Not great, but entertaining enough. It was nice to see someone show a visual of an LSD trip and get it right. Don't ask me how I know this. :)

Now we're in the middle of the 40 year anniversary version of Woodstock. I really love this film ...

Finally saw District 9... What a pleasant (unpleasant) surprise that was! Nasty film, but a great piece of cinema, IMO. I had avoided all the reviews, and had only seen the minimal ad campaign when it came out. I take it that the film bombed in theatres.

That was a bloody good bit of sci-fi, IMO ...

Excellent as always. I can't seem to figure out how to get good photos with my SLR - easier with the point and shoot (Pentax Optio W60), What settings do you use, and do you use a flash?

I watched Julie & Julia last night, and didn't hate it. Actually, Meryl Streep as Julia Child was so entertaining it more than made up for the yuppie simp character/side story, which was poorly handled, IMO. I honestly didn't care if the Julie character lived or died.

But Streep is GOOD in this ...

We still had some nice colors, particularly individual trees here and there, but some rains on Friday really knocked much of those leaves off.
The remaining leaves are mostly on the oaks that stay on longer but turn from red to brown.

I'm at the library with my laptop so I can see that there's lots of cool stuff to be seen in this sticky!

Nothing worth shooting in this area yet. Another week or so and there should be some noteworthy colors.
