Fry ID guesses?

H all,
I found this little guy sticking to my glass behind my mattenfilter. It's either Sewellia lineolata or Panda Garra.
My guess is the former, of course, as it'd simply be much more likely, but I'm not sure. Any guesses?

River manifold: glue?

Hi all, I'm putting together my manifold system and would like to know if I can get away with not gluing it. I have more than enough filtration and flow, so I'm not super concerned with a little bit of leakiness. Is there a reasonable chance of a big enough failure to seriously compromise performanc...

Re: Loach/goby indentification?

It could very well be a female in the Rhinogobius Duospilus group.

Re: Share your Loach Movies!

My banded mountain loach, Acanthocobitis urophthalmus. I love this little guy, but I'm going to be giving him away; I have a number of fish who may breed in the aquarium, and this guy is by far the most predatory... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGP0oRjgOt4 Here are a couple more of the tank. Canister filter set-up

Hi all, I posted here a few months back with some stiphodon and loach questions. I'm upgrading my 20 long to a 55 in the coming weeks, and I'll be doing the rivertank manifold with two 300 gph powerheads, with added flow and filtration from a Rena XP2. Stocking will be 10 various Stiphs, 7 Sewellia,...

Re: Stiphodon ID

Thank you, Odyssey. I think that clarifies it for me. He's by far the youngest of my group, but he appears to be developing colors in his dorsal fin and he has a colorful second dorsal fin, so I think he's "rainbow-color." Also, I read through your long Stiphodon thread on this forum while setting u...

Re: Stiphodon ID

Thanks for your replies. Yes, the top one is definitely "orange-fin." I have 3 that looks exactly like this "rainbow", but the little blue guy looks really different. Could they be different strains of rainbows? I thought maybe semoni as well. Is there a way to differentiate between the two for sure...

Stiphodon ID

Hi all, I recently obtained 5 Stiphodon gobies. All were labeled as sp. "rainbow." I am certain that 3 of them are, in fact, rainbow. I am certain that 1 is "orange-fin." Can you tell me if the goby here is a rainbow in different coloration from the rest (which look typical to me)? The one inset is ...

Re: River stones for tank

Rather than vinegar, I drop a drop of ph down, which is hydrochloric acid, on the stone. If it fizzles, I don't use it. Since it's more acidic than vinegar, you'll get a more clear reaction, and more sensitivity as well.

Re: Loach Newbie Hillstream Questions

I haven't seen the Chenis lately. I just remembered seeing them in the past and figured they were still available. This may influence my decision-making! :)
Thanks for the additional information.

Re: Loach Newbie Hillstream Questions

Ah. If I were just to get one, which would you recommend? I think the Sewellia are a little more attractive, but does one have more interesting behavior in the aquarium in your opinion?
I appreciate the help.

Re: Loach Newbie Hillstream Questions

Thank you for your reply. The tank is a 20 long. I think I'll see how they behave with the current flow in the tank, but if it seems that they really try to stay on the half of the tank with more flow, I'll try to upgrade the powerhead. I may also try to alter the intake filter of the Emperor 280 to...
