After a few more glimpses of the more elusive little hillstream loach I suspect it to be a Sinogastromyzon wui ( see reference link http://www.loaches.com/species-index/sinogastromyzon-wui ).

Its a G. zebrinus, a very nice one!
The markings of this type can be very different.
Zebrinus you say hmm, sounds plausible :P (if one takes into account the seemingly highly variable markings).
