After a few days in a hospital tank, the loach has died.

It is illegal to keep a weather loach in a pond as they are able to survive wild in UK, and in some parts of the world have indeed colonised local streams.

One of my golden weather loaches seems unable to stay below the surface of the water unless it wedges itself under the filter. It was seeded with a spare filter sponge from one of my existing tanks. I am being very careful, I am too fond of the little creatures to do anything else.

Finally got the 275 l (72 G US) tank, as the larger one wouldn't fit on the table. Got the biggest internal filter I could find, Interpet 250. I have 3 golden weather loaches (dojos) who are amazing, which is why I am getting the larger tank. Eventually I will get them a couple of friends.

The tank I finally ordered is 275 L, 73 US Gallons.

My plants in the current loach tank are in pots, which seems to be a good compromise so far. I had not even considered under substrate filter, as my weather loaches like the sand. I will have to research
