Unknown Gastromyzon

Picked up a few new Hillstream loaches for my Aquarium. Was able to get a couple Pseudogastromyzon laticeps. But also picked up a couple unknown Gastromyzons. If in fact they are Gastromyzons. Anyone have any idea what species they are? Pic number 1-3 is the unknown. Pic 4 is Pseudogastromyzon latic...

Re: New Hillstream loaches.

@Jim. No reason. Thier is still plenty of flow with the Hydor turned off. The fluval 406 pushes a lot of water. I guess just to mix up current flow.

Re: New Hillstream loaches.

Thanks for the quick responses. I was just at the right place at the right time. The LFS where i purchased the loaches is sometimes know to carry rare or odd species. But i think its more by accident. Since the place is very small. The Hypergastromyzon humilis seems to be of a more carnivorous specie...

New Hillstream loaches.

Hey guys. Need some help in identifying some new Hillstream loaches i picked up at my LFS. I was lucky this time as i was able to pick up some great looking "contaminants " from a batch of common Gastromyzon ctenocephalus. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g156/steeelviper/IMAG0087.jpg http://i55.ph...

Re: Gastromyzon ID / Stiphodon compatibility

Get rid of the Knight Goby. For starters they are brackishwater fish. 2nd he will eat anything he can put in his mouth. I have seen them eat celebes rainbows at night. They will not hesitate to eat any shrimp or fish.

In fact there were a few small streams in the Munitions are(bomb dump) where i used to work on Kadena. I remember many gobies darting around. To fast to catch. Not sure if they where Stipho...

Re: Stiphodon genus of the Goby

Beautiful pictures. I used to be stationed in Okinawa(Kadena AB)(USAF). It is goby heaven. Used to see and catch may Stiphodon and other goby species. And i used to watch the mudskippers skip along the surface of the water. (brackish area of the beach) Miss it. :(
