Re: Healthy clown loach but sick angels and out of ideas!

It does sounds a horrible thing to catch in the fish, doesn't it ??!!!

Do hope you manage to find a solution. Your water parameters seem fine; anything you've added to the tank recently...airborne pollutants etc ?

Snatching at straws here.....

Re: Healthy clown loach but sick angels and out of ideas!

Hello there. I had a quick Google re Angelfish and app there is something called Angelfish Virus/Angelfish Aids....? I don't know if this is something you have already investigated or considered however. Not having kept the species myself, I really can't help any further but thought I would mention ...

Re: Looking for the Right Kind of Plant

Indian Fern (Ceratopteris thalictroides) is excellent for absorbing nitrates. You can also use it as a floating plant as well as planted. Likes bright lighting but is fast growing and needs to be kept 20-26C. App floating plants are the best for cutting down on the nitrates as they aren't limited by...

Re: Black Lined Loaches

Thanks Graham :D

They've really settled in quite nicely; feeding well although still a little skittish when you approach the tank dead on but that will settle in time too.

Did pop in on Saturday just gone, to see if you had any more in so expect to see me sometime in July !!

Black Lined Loaches

Popped into MA at Crowland today and came home with 4 Y. Nigrolineata which are currently being quarantined and aclimatized.

My thanks to Graham for the advice and the chat. :D

Re: A planted tank without snails is this possible???

Hi Val

You can always treat the plants with a snail treatment before adding the plants to the tanks. Gastropex by Esha is available and usually recommended for this.

Preventive bath; for 10 litres or 2.2 Gallons. For 1-2 hours use 2 drops.

Rhinogobius feeding

Just wondered if anyone who keeps Rhinogobius has any success of getting them to take flake or pellets ? Since having mine, having reading they prefer live or frozen food, this is what they have been having; a mix of mini bloodworm, white Mos Larvae and brineshrimp. Am slightly concerned that they a...

Golden Zebra behaviour

Hi Folks Being a new loach keeper, I wanted to pick your little grey cells about loach behaviour. I have a small school of 5 Golden Zebras which are now growing and fattening up nicely. One is a lot smaller than the others but I keep tabs on it to make sure it's getting it's fair share of food etc. ...

Re: wanting to get a male betta but need help first ?

If you already have a existing female Betta and by adding a male, it is highly likely that the male will harrass the female to death. Females and male Bettas are only usually put together for breeding purposes. It is not usual for a lone female and a male to be kept together on a permanent basis for...

Re: Does anyone make a good algae wafer?

Don't suppose anyone knows a supplier of the Repashy food within the UK ? Have looked on E Bay and Amazon but whilst the Gecko and Lizard food is popular, can't seem to find the Fish version anywhere other than shipping it in.

Re: Loach Talk

Hi Tanja One thought may be to confirm the correct treatment and dosage etc for Ich. Perhaps this is something you have already considered but by looking at the forum alone, we know how misleading and confusing some of the information out there can be...specifically for treating loaches. Just a thou...

Re: A question ?

Not sure I would go with a hex tank judging by the reading I've done so far. But, not having kept Kuhlies and just finding my feet with loaches as a whole, I'm obviously no expert !!

Thanks for the input though.

Re: Squabbling Zebra

Thanks Dainbramage Your comments are along my train of thought tbh. Was so surprised at how pale the black banding went; don't think I would have believed it unless I had seen it with my own eyes !!! The two that were squabbling are of roughly the same size which made me think it was a dominance iss...
