Re: Kubotai Rescue

Thanks for sharing that story! It was an interesting read. I definitely know what you mean about needing to have that fish! I also know what you mean about those shops and the people "running" them. At least you got the happy little guy and gave him a great home! Also... PICTURES! We need pho...

Re: A planted tank without snails is this possible???

There are several ways to disinfect plants that you get before adding them to a tank. Some of them have been mentioned above, and Google searches will net many other successful methods. Should snails be introduced, it's not difficult to keep them in check. Common pest snails will not lay eggs if the...

Re: Pangio oblonga swimming in circles

It sounds like you have a case of happy kuhlis. :)

Kuhlis dance all along the glass when they are happy!

Re: Best filter for kuhlis

Does Amazon ship to the UK?

They usually have the best prices there, but if they ship internationally, I'm not sure what it would end up coming out to.

Re: Best filter for kuhlis

No, you won't need a power head. The AC 50 will be all you'll need!

Kuhlis do seem to love bubblers! I don't use one because I inject CO2 into my tank and that pretty much defeats the purpose, but if you don't, then definitely try putting an airstone or even a bubble wand in! They'll love it!

Re: Best filter for kuhlis

+1 to the above. AquaClear 50 for a 20 gallon tank. You can cut an extra AquaClear sponge as described above to fit over the filter intake to protect the kuhlis, or you can buy the Fluval prefilter (Finer black sponge) that will fit over just fine right out of the box. Just be sure to rinse the spon...

Re: Kuhli Loach Egg Development

Still trying to get to the bottom of this mystery. Two of my girls now are filling with these tiny, tiny yellow eggs. I had figured that they were females, as their bodies are deeper than some of the other kuhlis, but it wasn't until this week that my suspicions were confirmed. It's still come as a ...

Re: Does anyone make a good algae wafer?

Don't suppose anyone knows a supplier of the Repashy food within the UK ? Have looked on E Bay and Amazon but whilst the Gecko and Lizard food is popular, can't seem to find the Fish version anywhere other than shipping it in. I have no idea... The Repashy powder has an excellent shelf life ...

Re: Best Heating Solutions

I figured that it was a difference between UK and US manufacturers. Never tried a Jager! As for the glass heaters tweaking me out... I'm not sure. I've just heard so many horror stories regarding glass heaters cracking, exploding, leaking... I'm sure very little of my fears are grounding in reality....

It is completely valid! I meant no disrespect. I'm very sorry if it came across that way.

Your hillstreams will love some SG poured over a rock!

As for the otocinclus spawns, I've been meaning to write something up. I have some photos and video, as well as all of my pertinent tank information. I know that it can be a difficult spawn to achieve, so every little bit of information helps.

Re: Best Algae Eater for My Tank?

I feel that i would run out of algae and have to feed veggies. Then, the water quality would plummet as decaying veggies / veggie poop are bad news for the aquarium and aquarium filters. I don't have any problems feeding veggies. Let's take zucchini or cucumber for example. You can buy a few, slice...
