Re: Yoyo Loach HEAVY with eggs!

Does anyone know?? She is getting bigger and bigger!! There is a male, but I have read there is little chance of fertilization. I worry about her, plus, I have to get her a bigger cave, for hiding!!

Re: Silver Dollars and Pictus Ctas

I assume you are talking caves, etc.? I probably need to add something additional! There is a big tree stump, that is accessible, but I am not sure if they go in it! They are pretty lively! will the silver dollars bother them, as time goes on??

How do you post a picture? I have a wonderful one of a Red Parrot finishing a lunch of a green tiger barb!! A friend took the picture and I would like to share it!!!

Re: Silver Dollars and Pictus Ctas

All seems to be going very well!! These fish are not as shy as I thought (as I read!). The little stinkers go after the sinking pellets I put in for the pictus cats, so I put some in one end, and while the silver dollars go after it, I drop pellets in the other end for the cats!! Of course, the doll...

Re: My larger loach died!

I do regular water changes, and if I think someone is distressed, I will do a change then, too. I take care of 5 aquariums, plus an aviary and 3 cockatiels, and work nights, so I know sometimes I might be a bit slow, but again, I didn't think it had been so long as to be an issue and everyone else i...

My larger loach died!

I am so sad, as the larger loach in one of the vets home's aquariums has died. I had had him for about 1-1/2 yrs. or so and he was about 3" long. I had treated the tank earlier for a tear in his tail fin. It was a bit white, but not "hairy" like fungus. It seemed to heal OK and he was doing OK...

Silver Dollars and Pictus Ctas

I have 3 pictus cats in the 45 gal. tank. I added 6 silver dollars about 2 wks. ago and now I am wondering if I made a mistake, after reading that silver dollars are really quite shy! Are the pictus too lively for these fish??? :( They (the pictus) are quite active!!

Re: Small clown loach not doing well

Sadly, I lost the little clown loach. I think I should have brought him home, sooner, to get him away from the larger loach. I don't think he was letting him eat, like he should, even tho' I put food in different areas of the tank. The second loach, which is smaller than the first one is doing just ...

Re: Small clown loach not doing well

I am planning a second dose of panacur, with bloodworms soaked in it. I have tried feeding the loach, holding a worm with a pair of tweezers, but he doesn't seem interested in eating. I have also put a carnivour tablet with him. I am not noticing any poop in the mornings. He is really just wasting a...

Re: Small clown loach not doing well

Thanks, I am sure you think I am an idiot, but I felt I had to get what was available at the present. I would have order the others, but they wouldn't get to me until Mon. and I'm afraid my loach will not last that long. Also, I thought I had read the flubendazole was not available anymore is that c...

Re: Small clown loach not doing well

I saw in a previous post you suggested dissolving fenbendazole in vodka - I take it, just a little bit? I am getting a packet of this (a powder) and am wondering about the dosage. If it's a powder, do I still want to use vodka? I do have that on hand! I have 1 peco, 2 yoyo loaches and a zebra danio ...

Re: Small clown loach not doing well

Mike, I thought I replied to you, but it may have been in another similar topic!

I have panacur paste that I have used for my kittens. Can this be used?? It would be more soluble than the tablet, I would think. If not, I can get some tabs from the vet!!

Thanks!
