Re: Great mix of loaches
Well I am down to 6-all the young new ones died but one yoyo-most due to how cold it got in shipping, the others I am just not sure-they all died overnight, and after they seemed fine all day that day-maybe they were being bullied by the Zebra-not sure-the ones that are still alive have a decent hid...

9 out of 13 fish died in one week-online order
Well I ordered online for the first time, and from That Pet Place/That Fish Place and when I received the fish-the water was way too cold-they didn't put enough heat packs in the box to keep it warm enough-I am waiting for a response from TFP to see if I will be refunded for the 5 that died overnigh...

Re: keeping several species of loaches together
Totally agree Nancy-except for the "for now"-11 years of keeping mixed species has proven they do get along fine no matter the size-but getting them when they are little would seem to be a better idea so they grow up together and except for the skunks of course! I really need to work on getting more...

Re: Anyone only have 1 Clown Loach?
Yes I would get him some new friends-you don't want to overcrowd them, but I have a normal 55gal and have never had problems with keeping loaches-others on here said its not big enough, but I don't agree-although I would like to have a bigger tank and am going to asap it will be fine to get 3 or 4 m...

Re: Tank Mates?
I'm acctually doing research on this myself. I have 3 clowns and some other fish in a 55 but planning to upgrade to a 125 and do a Sumatran / Indonesian style Biotope. The fish I have currently are an international bunch but my goal is to evetually turn over to all natives. So far I have found rain...

Re: keeping several species of loaches together
Some fish seem to accept other species as their friend well enough to answer their needs for schooling, but it is an individual thing. Most Cories, for example seem to be quite accepting of a mixed school, so I would say go for it if the fish were Cories. But Loaches are not always so agreeable. If...

Re: keeping several species of loaches together
Don't worry about keep them together-although as I mentioned I found that the Skunk loach was mean to the other loaches-if you see one type going after the others then I would separate that species-otherwise they should be fine together!!!

Re: Great mix of loaches
Clowns, Yoyo, Chain, Batik, Burmese, Kuhli, Striped, Redtail-8 kinds, chain and yoyos interact like they are the same type of fish, but they all are interacting/playing very well-couldn't be better-the Burmese are real close to the yoyos-just without the Y shape too-the Redtails are a really cool bl...

Great mix of loaches
I am very happy with the mix of 7 types of loaches-they all are interacting very well-the energy and playfulness is way up-I would recommend mixing them when they are "babies" I guess before they know any better! My new little Clowns love my older 2-pretty awesome results!!!

Re: keeping several species of loaches together
I have had many species together of loaches-the only ones that didn't like others was the Skunk Loach-they chased and nipped the other fish-I have 7 types right now that all are good-they interact with or ignore quite well with one another-I have Clowns, Yoyo/Chain, Burmese, Batik, Red Tail, Kuhlie,...

Re: Stray Voltage: Grounding Rod or GFCI Experience?
check the DC voltage once also-if you have the plant weights-they are lead I believe, and something acidic in the tank could cause a battery effect-more just interested to see what it reads really-it probly wouldn't cause enough amps to shock you or the fish though. if there is something acidic also...

Re: Tank Mates?
Also any of the skirt tetra's, danio's, bleeding hearts-(more mid and top dwellers to fill out the tank as mentioned in other reply)-ask for community tank type fish at the fish store-if the person knows anyway-or look online

7 different loach species-priceless!!!
I am really happy I ordered online-it gave me 3 new loach species I have never had/saw before-I love them all and 7 different types total-now I have seen so many more loachs from this site and from the fish store-I want them all, I just don't have the room right now-and need to round out a couple th...
