Well several people have stated that metro doesn't work for ICH but I'm pretty sure it does at this point.

Just going another week to be certian but so far all looks good.

So I have a total of 6 clown... 4 of which are juvenile 2 of which are about "mature" ....one is pushing 7 the other is about 4 or 5? Anyway... I noticed today... and seen in the past... my oldest loach and the second oldest swimming together like they're magnetically stuck. They don't appear to be ...

I suggest you read this... http://www.loaches.com/species-index/weather-loach-misgurnis-anguillicaudatus I have kept weather loaches in the past and absolutly consider then "cold water" fish. Anytime I've tried keeping them in a tropical tank they've not survived. I think tge above link should give ...

Re: ICH med recomendations for Clown loaches

That's so frustrating. Metronidazole may have some benefit against the skinny disease but that depends on what it's caused from. I read recently that the parasite causing it is a cousin of the hexamita parasite and it's been easily treated with JBL spirohexol(that's in Europe) but metronidazole has...

Re: Clown Loaches Brackish Water

You have to remember that because it is a freshwater fish, these fish come from rivers and streams of asia, where there is still salt in them, not as much as a brackish environment, but enough that it is measurable. Is there information somewhere saying how much salt is present in their natural hab...

Re: Clown Loaches Brackish Water

And FYI - Clown loaches are not hard to keep. In fact they are relitively easy to keep when cared for correctly. I have kept loaches for years and in that time I have only ever had two outbreaks of ich EVER. In both cases it was caused by purchasing fish from a petshop that I later discovered knowin...

Re: Clown Loaches Brackish Water

.. the salt helps prevent ich in the wild habitat. that's the reason why y u see clowns develop ich when you buy them from a LFS into a freshwater aquarium without salt. they are not used to the purity and cleanliness of that kind of water. which is retrospect can cause unwanted illnesses which to ...

So far with that and the temp increase I have no knew outbreaks to speak of so far and no losses. The lo...

It was aimed at the person who posted the article. I was simply sticking up for those of us who have done our homework and put the proper amount of effort into loach care.
Oh. No worries. Just wasn't sure.
