Re: Garra pingi pingi: where can i buy some

I don't know of anyone who currently sells Garra Pingi Pingi, but I do have a handful of tank raised Garra Flavatra (Panda Garra) that are offspring of my pair. If you are interested feel free to message me. I'm also on Aquaria Central if you are a member there (I've sold several through there). I d...

Re: Species choices for river tank setup

You can keep P. Myersi and Sewellia species together without worrying. I have kept several different combinations (including that specific combo) for years without any issues.

Re: Help to sexing Sewellia Lineolata

You can only see the "fences" from the front or top of the fish as they are actual raise fins on top of their pectoral fins. They are very easy to see once developed and are pretty much the easiest way to determine sex in mature fish.

What store is it? It may be worth a little drive for me one day if it isn't too far. I'm in San Diego.

Re: New Hillstream loaches.

Yeah I believe the first one is G. Zebrinus, the second and third pics may be Homaloptera Zollingeri, and the last one is definitely G. Viriosus as already stated. I am very jealous of the the Viriosus BTW, as I have been looking for them for years with no luck!

Re: The Dream Tank Begins

High surface agitation and even adding air via air stones or through a powerhead venturi will increase oxygen saturation in the water.

Re: The Dream Tank Begins

Many smaller rocks gives hillstream fishes (and any other bottom dwellers that like rocks for that matter) more areas to hide and feel comfortable on. Having said that, many of the hillstream loaches seem to be found in areas where the bottom of the stream is essentially a smooth rock surface. They ...

Re: Newbie setting up a loach tank.

That is a lot of fish. What size is the tank? I fear you may be well overstocked at this point. That appears to be an aweful lot of fish for anything less than a 100 gallon tank.
