Re: Interior design by clown loaches
Sorry, Maybe I didn't mention the pieces of drift wood I had were over 4 feet long and 3 feet wide. I didn't have a pot big enough lol.

Re: Loaches more and more shy
I don't want to believe the fish get lazier as they get bigger. I have angels and Acei yellow tails in the tank with several various sized clown loaches. If you have any experience with the Acei's you will know they are prolific breeders, dropping between 70-100 babies at a time monthly.(I have 4 fe...

Interior design by clown loaches
I really think there should be a share your funny loach story area. I have named my funny loach story as "Interior design by clown loaches" We all spend alot of time in taking care of our loaches and ensuring they have the best possible environment in their tank to ensure they thrive. I have a 300 g...

Re: Inherited Clown loaches.
Our loaches are kept at around 28 degrees. They are super comfortable and if they see me coming they are usually waiting for food. We have a range of sizes from 1.5 inches to over 10 inches. 30 in all. We rarely turn the tank lights on, but they receive natural light during the day. When we inherite...

Re: 190g Lake Malawi Show Tank
WOW!!!!The tank and the fish are absolutely breathtaking. I hope you don't work, because if you do it would probably be pretty hard to leave the house.

Re: feeding loaches
I have done the ammonia tests 0 the nitrite, nitrate, hardness ,etc. all levels are very good. The 4000gph stream pump really helps with the circulation. The discoloration in the tank is coming from the driftwood, should settle down soon, if not then I will buy more new driftwood and replace the pie...

Re: feeding loaches
I thank you and so does the pleco. I put cucumber slices partially under a rock to keep the loaches busy and then gave the lettuce to the pleco. The loaches nibbled only slightly at the lettuce and had a great time digging the cucumber slices from under the rock out. (very entertaining) Pleco hung o...

Re: feeding loaches
Thanks for your input. I was always under the impression that clowns were shy around people, but mine see me coming and start standing up and what I call (begging for food). They come right to the surface and will grab shrimp or prawn right from my fingers. I doubt they are starving as their bellies...

Re: feeding loaches
Thank you for your reply. I am running 2 very large filters so water quality at this point has not become an issue, but it makes complete sense to feed only the necessary amounts to keep them healthy. Don't want any fat loaches.
