Re: Dying loaches
We have an update on symptoms. I now have a tiger barb that hangs. Face down, fanny up. He paddles quickly when he does this and goes pale. His anus also appears to be red or inflamed. No other symptoms to report yet. Hopefully we won't have any losses while i'm out of state for a few days. And yes,...

Re: sick pleco and catfish
Fast breathing is the only symptom you're sure of then? Check to see if the area around the gills is inflamed or puffy at all. it could be flukes. The pleco's symptoms may not be related, since the others didn't have any wounds or spots. The melafix with help heal up the spot, either way. I have 3-4...

Sun loaches!
Hi there guys, I thought I'd let y'all know that thewetspot is actually adding the Y eos, or as i like to call it "the angry loach", to their custom order list. I myself have asked for at least 6 of the little buggers, but if anyone else has been interested in getting your hands on these guys, pleas...

@o@ I have looked almost everywhere. Even sites from out of the country. Good lord, it's like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.

Re: Brackish Loaches?
They have peacock eels for distribution on thatfishplace. They're not Always in stock, but if you live in the US, they're great to go through. Just figured I'd mention it.

Re: Tank size for dwarf chain loach
This is a pretty small tank, all in all. About 15 or so gallons, if i calculated right. Loaches should be kept in small groups and with at least 5 fish sharing this small area, they won't be able to do much exercise or be too comfy. If I'm right about the measurements, I wouldn't personally keep muc...

Re: Clicking
Howdy, guys. The largest agreed on cause for the clicking is believed to be the snail tooth or teeth. Teeth used to crack the shells of snails and other small critters with a hard casing. They tend to click for a number of reasons. First and foremost seems to be over food. Other reasons are things l...

Re: New home for my beloved loaches
Well that could be a while... The house I was eyeballing was just nabbed off the market 2 days ago apparently. But that tank is going to happen as soon as I get a floor that I can trust to support the weight lol. But I have to have at least a 250, considering the size my black shark is bound to reac...

Re: In need of sun loaches
I'm good friends with a couple of the aquaria shop owners in the area, but they haven't been able to locate a vendor willing to transport the y. Eso due to it's nasty reputation. Weird how the modesta winds up around, but it's sister can't be found. I know there is a vendor who can transport, but yo...

I'm in the US. I haven't heard of these sites, so I'm going to need to check them out. Thanks for the heads up!
Oiii, gave them both a look and no luck.

In need of sun loaches
Hi guys, long time no see! If any older users are around, you'll remember my cranky sun loach and his lack of buddies. I still lack buddies for my handsome fellow and was hoping my loachy experts could give me a hand in locating a vendor. I'm still looking to get a handsome family of at least 5, but...

Re: New home for my beloved loaches
Heyheyhey! I'm in mifflinburg pa and I certainly wouldn't mind the addition of your clowns with my family. Mind are much younger, about 1-4 years. My tank size is only a 180 gallon at the moment, but once we get moved into a new house, I'll be upgrading to a 250. Currently, they would be right at ho...

Re: First World Black Shark Problems
I figured separation was the only option. There is the 30 gal, but he picks on the gold fish. Total pain. The new, larger tank should be on it's way and we can try expanded territories for a while. I will keep this updated.
