Is this B. histrionica?
Two more loaches moved in yesterday. One is quite surely Botia histrionica, but how about this one? http://personal.fimnet.fi/koti/sanna.aalto/kuvat/bh7left.jpg http://personal.fimnet.fi/koti/sanna.aalto/kuvat/bh7left2.jpg http://personal.fimnet.fi/koti/sanna.aalto/kuvat/bh7right.jpg http://personal...

Re: Comparing Botia histrionica, kubotai and almorhae
Hello! Now my Asian stream tank has it's first inhabitants. :D There are two striped guys, which should be Botia histrionicas. It seems to my, btw, that the other one's stripes are spreading out the way I'd think B. kubotai would do. My LFS ordered seven B. histrionicas for me, but got only two sugg...

Loach-durable plants for Asian hillstream biotope?
I'm right now planning the plants of my 63 gal / 240 litres tank. There will be B. histrionicas and pearl danios (Danio albolineatus), perhaps sewellias and C. siamensis, too. The plants should be of Asian biotope. I am wondering, which plants are strong enough to withstand both loaches and the stre...

Re: Long way home - how to carry loaches?
I have also transported them in large plastic (fish only) buckets ~20 liters with either a lid or big towel over the top. Nice! That's clever! Also battery working air pumps sound great - have to check if I could buy one or two. :) There could be a warm water bottle in the bucket, too, or next to i...

Long way home - how to carry loaches?
How long time can I keep my loaches (B. histrionica) in a plastic bag or a transit case? Which one is better for transporting loaches, an acrylic case or bag? Maybe an acrylic transit case (like this http://bit.ly/1dbTWbg) so their spikes would'nt do harm? If I'll wear some plastic film on the top o...

Thank you, guys! I'm happy now. I'll tell here when my tank gets its residents!

Do they "dance", too? Histrionicas, I mean.

Comparing Botia histrionica, kubotai and almorhae
Hi! I'm planning to have some kind of loaches during this winter. My tank will arrive next weekend, 240 litres/63 gals. The plan is to get a school of 15 pearl danios, Danio albolineatus (and perhaps a few Crossocheilus siamensis) first, and when the aquarium is surely mature, I'll find a school of ...
