Re: My biggest Pangio myersi just keeps getting bigger

It's been a while since I last posted on this thread, in fact I see I didn't even mention the discovery of a second baby loach. Anyway, I'd sold all the adults and kept the tiddlers, and now they've both grown up. They're fairly shy but occasionally to be seen out and about. After a water-change and...

Re: My biggest Pangio myersi just keeps getting bigger

It's been a while since I wrote this thread. I'm trying to downsize my fish activities and decided to close down the loach tank and sell my group of Pangio loaches. Catching them out of the tank into a bucket I had a little surprise turn up! http://www.tropicalfishforums.co.uk/index.php?action=dlatt...

Re: My biggest Pangio myersi just keeps getting bigger

Thanks for the reassurance :) She's certainly acting pretty normal, if anything a bit more active than usual. She doesn't seem ill. Hopefully she will try and spawn. I've got a mixture of P.myersi, P.oblonga and P.kuhlii/semicincta in the tank, about 15 in total, but I'm not certain of their sexes a...

My biggest Pangio myersi just keeps getting bigger

I guess she's just full of eggs - there are another dozen Pangio loaches in the same tank and none of them are anything like as big as this one. She almost looks figure-8 shaped in cross-section. But should I be worried and is there anything I should do? She is very active at the moment, doesn't loo...

Re: Just realised my kuhlis aren't all the same!

So, I've moved the snakes into their own tank, hopefully set up to suit their needs. They've got fine black sand, rounded pebbles, small ceramic tubes, leaf litter, java ferns and floating plants above, and the tank is filtered with an HMF, with the heater and a load of alfagrog behind it. They've s...

Re: Just realised my kuhlis aren't all the same!

A couple more pictures of the big 'snake' with the distinctive even pattern and black/gold colouration. On close inspection it looks rather fat, or possibly gravid? http://www.tropicalfishforums.co.uk/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=85641.0;attach=418681;image http://www.tropicalfishforums.co.uk/ind...

Just realised my kuhlis aren't all the same!

Hi! I'm Paul, I'm new to the forum but not to fishkeeping. I have 10 tropical tanks and my major interest is catfish. However, I do have some loaches too, and I've got a question about them. I have a small Asian-themed tank with a group of 10 Pangio loaches, plus a honey gourami; the tank has been s...
