I did a little more research on sands.
My plan for the future is if I want to go cheap, I'll probably go for pool filter sand.
If I don't mind spending, I'd probably get Caribesea Torpedo Beach. The grains are supposed to slightly bigger than PFS and it's a lot cleaner. Safe for Rays and I ...

Re: Large (> 4") Clown Loach Source
Yeah, you sometimes see posts on mfk as redshark said. Divers Den on Liveaquaria sometimes has 4.5-6" ones but they are really expensive. Like they want over $100 a fish. Compare that to their 2.25-3" ones that goes for $69.99 for three. That price is good for two week guaranteed fish that have been ...

Re: advice on soft sand
Ive been planning for a future tank upgrade and plan on switching to sand for that tank.
I thought I was sold on pool filter sand but this video has me questioning it.

Re: Loaches flashing? Black spots & gills?
Update:
So, I think the black by gills may just be normal for some clown loaches.
I watched this video today and this fish looks the same as three of my loaches:

The fish also don't seem to flash that much. I'll try watching them for an extended time tonight ...

Loaches flashing? Black spots & gills?
Hi everyone,
Thanks for any input on this:
The short version is my young loaches have been flashing like this for like two months and I'm not sure if I should try treatments or if it could just be from the black spots that loaches can get (I read the long thread about how the theory is it's from ...

Re: buying frozen fishfood online
I ordered like $100+ worth of frozen food from liveaquaria. They frequently have deals where the food is 20% off. They ship it for $19.99 next day air and even factoring in shipping, the food is cheaper here than anywhere else I've looked.

Re: 2 Clowns, New Home, Greying Out
Just replying to say that the flow isn't a problem and the Loaches probably like it.
That being said, they do fine with little flow. I had minimal flow in my tank and my three.loaches I have survived for over 20 years.
I've since added flow with two powerheads. The new Loaches and rainbowfish seem ...

Re: Help me build the perfect loach tank
Yeah, I can't believe I was so slow to get a Python. I hated filling up buckets (and I used 3 gallon ones in the slow sink faucet).
Now, I can just start to drain with the python. Then, ehike it's doing that I syphon water into the buckets to rinse out my sponges or media. I can even speed up ...

Re: Help me build the perfect loach tank
If you're not happy with the selection at the LFS you can always try online. After a bad batch of clowns, I tried liveaquaria's Diver's Den. The fish there go through a bath for external parasites and then get a two week quarantine before they go on the website. They post actual pics of the fish ...
