I have 2 power heads and an outflow from an xp1 running in my 20 gallon cube.. o2 during the day is very high.. plants pearl. at night I assist the tank with an airstone.
do you recommend any hilly over anohter, for a soft water tank, and do you recommend on-line sources for finding them?

I want to try hillies again but my tank gets warm (lights and acrylic tank.) have have a couple of power heads so the water movement is good.

Jim it wasn't dirty gravel.. it was mulm left there on purpose for a heavilly planted tank. I keep this tank beautifully. It is my one piece of garden in the big city and it is prized.

first loaches are just fine in a planted tank. My neighbor and I both do planted tanks and she has 5 inch clowns in hers, as well as yoyos and kubatias (sp?)

I had three hillstream loaches in a community tank.. 78 degrees, who were doing really well for months.
2 of the three used to routinely come off the glass and scrounge for food at feeding time with everyone else. I called them my explora loaches and I loved them

I feed teh tank frozen bloodworms a couple of times a week, but there is a lot of competition for them.
I'm thinking, maybe I should do a double dose a couple of days.. make sure there is left over...
