Re: Aggresive Dojo Loach ?
Fancy goldfish have delicate features and can have problems like that. However you aren't keeping the dojo loach properly you are literally boring him to death. They really need to be in groups.

Re: Planning my new 29 :)
Dojo loaches aren't tropical and shouldn't be kept in a heated tank.... they won't get old.
So the first choice is either you get an unheated tank with dojo's, white clouds and other compatible fish, or a tropical tank with tropical fish.

Thanks that was interesting, though it contained little information on keeping them or C taenia.
You still have those Cobitis loaches?

Re: How to have Diatom free aquarium?
No it is normal to have diatoms. Having a lot is a sign of having low lights and no plants.
Cleaning it is just normal maintenance.

Look for Microbelift Artemiss it is a herbal anti bacterial formula that could help with your Gastromyzon. Available in Europe as well.

You're welcome, I see it now, when you say it's been there for a year I take it it is scar tissue from bumping in to stuff.

I see they look healthy and you've had them for about 10 years. It is probably a tumor due to old age. Can't see the mouth, if you want to try something there is a herbal product for wounds and bacterial infections called Artemiss by Microbelift which is safe for loaches and all, maybe it helps with...

Re: Sick Dojo Loach
Ammonia should always be 0. What are you feeding him? A monotonous diet or floating foods can cause him to float. What is the temperature? Feed him some shelled and boiled peas for a couple of days. It's not the only issue. Guppy's don't die just like that and algae don't cause deaths either. Live p...

Re: Cobitis loaches
So I have read quite a bit on Cobitis loaches (scientific... not practical... there is very little about that) and there are no tropical species. All of them occur in Europe or Northern Asia. Maybe this idea of them coming from 'streaming waters' is because Rachel O'leary says it but their primary b...

Re: 5 CL'S in 4ft 95 gallon tank !?
They grow up to over a foot long and get really chunky too. Most have their colors fade as well.
Since they are a schooling fish it's not really a viable aquarium fish unless you have a public aquarium sized tank.
They either die young or still grow too fast, there is not much you can do about that.
