Re: loach talk!
I haven’t been on here in forever! I did join the FB Loach Fanstics page. And I’m happy to report that my Botia dario and sidthimunkis are doing great.

Wow! That’s a gorgeous tank!
And thank you for any effort in educating on how to keep loaches. We new loach owners are most appreciative!

Re: PH Problem (too alkaline)
Sorry, jumping in to the game late here, but as your post was fairly recent thought I'd pipe in w/a couple a thoughts. I'm in MD and my pH is 8.2 and the KH is almost 0. (but the pH is stable, I know that's unusual). Here are the things I do do lower pH to varying degrees in different tanks: Not im...

Re: PH Problem (too alkaline)
I’m not a chemist, but I do know that water does not always seem to follow what I think are the rules. For instance, I’m starting with RO/DI water made from my well water so it should be pure. But even though I add the appropriate amount of buffers and minerals, I end up with a dGH of 6, dKH of 2, a...

Re: PH Problem (too alkaline)
Oh and adding pictures is a pain. You need to first put them on a photo hosting sight. I use Picturetrail. Then copy the URL for bulletin boards and paste here.

Re: PH Problem (too alkaline)
Welcome Jim! I’m not that far from you in N. Central MD. I’m also on well water but am in an area devoid of limestone. So my well water tests at about 11dGH, 0 dKH, and between ph of 5.3-5.6. As the api kit only tests ph down to 6.0, the ph values were from commercial testing that was done several y...

Re: Gluing Plants on to driftwood
Hmmm, not sure if that is an improvement or not lol!
I tried to fix it. When they look correct on my phone, everyone else sees them sideways or upside down.
But hopefully, the OP gets the idea!

Re: Gluing Plants on to driftwood
I have issues posting pictures lol! So hopefully this is not rotated! Behind the red tiger lotus are java fern glued to both driftwood and a rock. This is in my 75 g that houses barbs and Botia dario. Ok, hopefully this is right side up! http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1690/8697474/24819073/4142641...

Re: Gluing Plants on to driftwood
The only grass I have is giant hair grass and it is planted in the sand substrate with root tabs. However, I have quite a few java fern glued to driftwood and it is doing great. I actually need to trim some of it. And super glue gel is safe for plants and fish. I also do the recommended dose of Seac...

My Botia Darios are very active fish. I have them in a 75 g and absolutely could not imagine them in a 15 g.

Re: Treat with Levamisole again?
I’m amazed at the rate of wasting in this little guy :( But he’s hanging in there. Just did a 75% water change and added charcoal to the filter. I’ll do another treatment in 2-3 weeks. Luckily I don’t share most equipment between tanks so hopefully nothing has spread. And if course, it might not be ...

Re: Video of my Botia dario
Haha! They do tend to go at about 75 mph at times. They always seem quite busy.
