Levamisole
I've found a vet near me who is helping me get hold of some Levamisole and come up with an appropriate dose. My quarantine tank is set up and ready.
For reference, 500ml of 3% aqueous solution Levamisole costs about £20.
Has anyone here got tips on dosage?

Sterazin
Ok - I won't use the sterazin. I'm a little perplexed, as it does say the following on the bottle: STERAZIN will also aid the control of internal parasites such as Round Worm, Thread Worm, and Intestinal Worm. Obviously reading labels is no substitute for the practical experience on this forum. I ne...

Sterazin
Has anyone had success with WATERLIFE STERAZIN? Sterazin is a parasiticide for the control of gill and body parasites which cause fish to flick and scrape - usually when no symptoms are visible to the unaided eye. Must not be used when crustaceans, echinoderms, rays, seawater sharks, pirahna, sturge...

Does my juv Kubotai have internal parasites?
I noticed something odd last night. After feeding my juvenile botia kubotai was sitting right by the glass at the front of my aquarium and I was able to sit down and stare at him for a while. His stomach looked slightly swollen from the flake food, which seems normal, but there was a slight extra bu...

Hmm.... No response yet. I'm sorely tempted to come up with a plan to keep my fish. Does anyone have any idea how long I've got till my juvenile kubotai really gets too big for this tank? His current 3cm length really does seem fine in a 2 foot tank, though I can see why he'd get uncomfortable once ...

OK - I guess it's best if I start looking around for a new home. To that end, is there anyone on here in North London (pref near Southgate) who would like to take him off my hands. I'd prefer a good home over taking him back to the shop - he could just as easily end up in another tank like mine with...

The shop is The Aquatic Design Centre in Great Portland Street - http://www.aquaticdesign.co.uk They seem to know what they're talking about, though they may be wrong on this count. They're happy to take the fish back, but don't really know why I'm worrying about it if he appears to be feeding and h...

I'll keep him for the moment
Thanks for all your suggestions and advice. I'll be keeping a close eye on him as he gets bigger, and if he stops eating or becomes less active as he grows I'll reconsider rehoming him and get in touch fast. If anyone could describe specific behaviours that might indicate distress then that could ch...

I'm already torn, that's the problem. I really like the little guy and want to keep him, but if he's going to end up pining for the fjords (or whatever his local equivalent is in myanmar) then it's just cruel to keep him alone in my tank. He's beautiful, entertaining and seems to be enjoying his foo...

Hmm.
If 10cm is about the maximum size they grow to I guess I could fit two more in my tank without exceeding the advised stocking level, or is a 2 foot tank just far too small for these fish? When they reached 10cm would three Kubotai gang up and eat my harlequins and guppies? How long would they take t...

Idiot beginner with Botia Angelicus
http://home.asparagine.net/bloguploads/horatio2.jpg Hello, I'm a beginner aquarist with a 70L/18G aquarium. All that's in it so far is 4 guppies, 5 harlequins and 1 3cm Botia Angelicus. The Botia was introduced this Wednesday, and the tank is now almost two months old. After reading a book and a fe...
