hi there everyone, haven't posted in a while but ya'll were a great help when starting my loach tank few years ago.

the set-ups: 75g clown loach tank with 5 clowns, size from 4"-6", and a 55g striata/yo-yo/kubotai tank, 3 striata, 2 yo-yo, 5 kubotai and a school of bosemani rainbow fish up top.

guilty of paying the $20 for kubotai's at petsmart. dont ever see them around local shops, and I looked online and best I found was $13, so I did buy from from the 'smart.

the kubotai's seem to be in season. I saw the "kubotai at petsmart" thread going, and have been seeing them mentioned around forums lately also.

petsmart near me had them in as well, and I couldn't resist and picked up a crew of 5. $19 each :shock: not the best deal in the world ...

I will add that the alpha of my clown gang of 5 does like to hide in his house alone moreso than any of the others.

the 2nd and 3rd in command are next biggest size, and they and the rest of the group are much more active and play together, while alpha does indeed hang out much more often alone ...

had one thought on your filtration. you said you use carbon in your filters? If so I'd suggest not using the carbon at all day-to-day. its not needed for healthy filtration, and the space in your filters where the carbon was ...

helodes does look like a possibility, its a juvy loach too so I'm wondering if the chest/belly spots will show up later if it is helodes?
