Collecting loaches?

I've decided to try to collect some of the locally occurring Spiny Loach (Cobitis taenia), and am wondering if anyone has any tips on how to do this?

Electrofishing and beach seine is out of the question (illegal).

That temperature range is very close to ideal for weather loaches. They will not have any problems adjusting to that. European weather loach is found naturally in waters which get both hotter and much colder than that, and I'd expect the same goes for oriental weather loach. In fact, the environment...

Thank you.
Also, they seem to have figured out who's the boss now, so the circle-dancing has temporarily stopped.

What are my Gastromyzon doing?

I have a bunch of Gastromyzon ctenocephalus , and two of them are acting weird. One of them has his nose to the cloacal region of the other, and keeps pushing the other fish sideways in a circle. Round and round and round - they've been doing this for at least a couple of hours. One of them has gone...

It's a Physa sp., aka tadpole snail, bladder snail, or pouch snail. It's the most common nuisance snail in aquaria. It is a harmless algae/detritus/fishfood eater which doesn't eat plants, but reproduces at an alarming rate. It is, as you've presumably noticed, easy pickings for loaches. Also malays...

Interestingly, this corroborates some things I've seen.

Thanks!

I saw that Mesonoemacheilus triangularis had been bred with a "spawning mop"... I've got a group of triangularis I'm trying to breed - you wouldn't happen to know where I could find some more details on the breeding of these guys?

List of species which have been bred in captivity?

Excuse me, I'm new on this site - is there a list anywhere of which loach species have been bred in captivity without the use of hormone injections?

Definition of "loach"?

Just curious - what is considered a loach?

As far as I can tell, it's any species from the families Cobitidae and Balitoridae? Is that correct? Or are the other families in the superfamily Cobitoidea (Catastomidae & Gyrinocheilidae) also considered loaches?
