Mine are the same. I know what rock they're under if I want to see them. I think it's normal for them to hide.

It's funny that this came up right now.

I was going to post something yesterday saying that my clowns never exhibit this behavior.

I wonder why?

I NEVER go into those stores. I gave up many years ago. Most of the chain type stores have pathetic fish departments. Too sad to look at.

I would do a water change immediately. The dosage you used is way too high.

I have fifteen 5-7" clowns and I feed them ONCE a day and skip one or two feedings weekly. They are in great health. Overfeeding is a major error people make. Vary the food and don't overfeed and they will last a long time.

If I fed my clowns what they could eat in 2 -3 minutes I'd be feeding them
4 -5 times what they currently get. Only the romaine lettuce and zucchini take longer than 2 - 3 minutes. Any shrimp, bloodworms or sinking pellets take one minute or less.

I also don't feed them one or two days a week.

They are all over on the coast here. Some of the coves I go to are full of them. Since they are called river rocks that also would be a good place to start a search.

Something to think about - the frontosas - would they be OK in pH 7.0? If so, if you could gradually bring their pH to that level and introduce the clowns you should be ok. In my experience with cichlids and loaches, as long as the loach is not small enough to fit into the mouth of the cichlid you ...
