Hi, yes, this is S. savona. They are friendlier than other Schistura, but they can nerve other fishes (danios) too. At this time I have only one of them. Together with a pair of Nemacheilus ornatus, one Aborichthys sp. and 4 Homaloptera smithii. Thats works fine. A nice and small loach! Bye Thomas

I can't say what Pangio you have, but I have a very similar. Here is a pic of it. http://greygo.net/Aqua-Bilder/lol/Pangio_sp1.jpg It could be a Pangio superba, but I'm very unsure about that. Maybe it's only a color variation. Or Emmy is right with Pangio alcoides, but I think that the transition b...

yes, but Pangio pangia remains smaller than P. oblonga. The loach in the picture looks (for my eyes) too big for P. pangia. How big is it? P. pangia 2,5 inch, P. oblonga 3,15 inch (from fishbase.org) Maybe I'm wrong but this could be a really P. pangia (it is 1,2 inch) http://sandkauer.de/Bilder/P_c...

I have measured and it is smaller than I thought, it's only 35 mm (1,4 inch), but the height was right.

I'm not sure, I think the length is 40-45mm (1,5-1,7 inch), the height is 3-4mm (0,12-0,16 inch) But I hope it will grow soon and fast :)

So, here are two a little bit better pics. The markings of the pangio are better to see.

Very nice Graeme! My search for S. pulliensis (http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php?t=11223) was unfortunately unsuccessful.

Great Photos! :D

where are the differences between Schistura mahnerti and Nemacheilus (Schistura) subfusca. I've bought a few years ago some Schistura subfusca (fishbase.org says that this is a synonym of Nemacheilus subfusca) but I was never really sure what I have.

Hi,
I thought I remembered reading somewhere else a colder temperature was OK.
I agree, my have at the moment 5°C. No problems noticed. In germany I've never seen the golden, only always the wild.

Bye,
