Re: Tame hand feed Clown loach VDO added Must see!

Thank you :) I have had all but the largest since they were little. I have had the smallest ones since august 2009 and the mid ones range from 1994 to 1997. The largest one I got in 1995 and was alraeady pretty big. Since I have had loaches, they have never been brave enough to pay attention to anyt...

Re: Followup on land plants and loach tank- aquaponics

Thanks!! :D I plan on overhauling the whole system in 2011. Since i didnt expect that much growth, the design was flawed because the system got clogged and water backed up. Last july or so, the system got clogged up by the roots and my overflow was not enough for the flood pumps so I had a little fl...

Re: Tame hand feed Clown loach

Really nice! She absolutely trust you and looks gentle as well. My large loach initially bit my hand but has now learned what is food and what is my hand so she is real gentle. The little ones do some major biting on my hand and bites harder than the large loach had bitten me. Feels like a little qu...

Re: Tame hand feed Clown loach

Thats real funny surgeon. It is so cool how easily they get spooked and loose trust. Even the loud thump of a dictionary falling on the floor would put send them away for about 15 minutes. Hungry! My large loach recent got sick and lost her appetite but she seems to be moving around today. Real happ...

Re: Followup on land plants and loach tank- aquaponics

Within a couple weeks of the tomato plants not being here, the lillys have really started growing. Here are some pictures I took with my phone a few minutes ago. They are about 30 inches tall. http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5292/5421613103_36ab485ba5_b.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5136/5421612...

Re: Followup on land plants and loach tank- aquaponics

Amazing. The plants are incredible. Are things getting better for the loaches? Well, except for these two, the others are fine. Infact, one of the young one started eating properly a little over a week ago. He went through a month period of eating little and now he gouges himself. It may be a coinc...

Re: Tame hand feed Clown loach

Very cool. Maybe that little one will start a trend. The older clown loaches get the more cautious and skiddish they get. Ironically, my biggest started the trend. Got to tell ya, unless they are biting, they bodies are real soft and they are gentle. I always make sure there is no detergent or lotio...

Re: Followup on land plants and loach tank- aquaponics

Tame hand feed Clown loach VDO added Must see!

Within the past year, my clown loaches got real tame and comfortable with me and started eating directly out of my hand, chases my hand for food, wiskers or even takes little nips at my fingers. Does anyoneelse have this experience? Added on 2/20/2011: Well, I finally compiled a few short clips of m...

Re: Nuts ´n´ Trash (the big trial-waterbridge)

I watched carefully and noticed that within the same spezies of loach, there are very different personalities. . I totally see and agree with the above. This is the coolest project ever and it is really tempting me to try. Right now I have just clown loaches and they will need large pipes so it may...

Re: Nuts ´n´ Trash (the big trial-waterbridge)

Do they ever get lost and confused in the tube? I have a 5.5 feet tube and initially the loaches would try to get out through the walls. Now, they know to "walk back" or swim forward to get out. On average it took a loach about a month to figure out.
