You guys are correct about humidity etc. Wasserscheu those are some healthy looking plants. I have never seen those plants flower. You must have some experience with plants. As for me, in the past 13 years living at this residence, I have never had luck with any plants. Colorado desert air is too dr...

Thanks wassercheu :)

Do the Echinodorus grow outside of fully submerged conditions? My tank may not have enough lighting or CO2 levels to grow any aquatic plants. Havent tried either.

Don't plants use ammonia directly, such that it might not appear in your nitrate measurements? Can't remember where i read that.... Fish don't eat the roots off? I can't get anything with exposed roots to grown with loaches. A Andyroo, Diana is right and plants will use all the forms of nitrate or ...

Actually, I have been considering more light. At the moment, i just have two 4 ft flourscent (40W) plant bulbs and the stock tank light. Been thinking about some T5 setup but its pricy. It will be my next purchase for the setup and thanks.

I had the same problem with my Eos, they quite dislike any loach regardless of its size. I no longer have them but my dominant Eos always managed to overthrow my large Syncrossus berdmorei which was twice his size. Infact the Eos even went after my 10" clown loach. The large clown was out manouvered...

I always wondered this too. It is interesting, all the reasons and the perspective of other loach keepers. I think too is they are not as young and curious but wise and cautious. Afterall, the large loaches are quite a catch for dinner in their parts of the world. They definitley don't become more d...

Rough week. RIP Beauforti

My one and only Beauforti recently died. I purchaced him in summer of 1995 and he died july 26th 2009. He was in great health condition and it was my first fish death that I have felt a deep loss. Reason for death: He got jammed between the large acrylic tube and the tank's back wall. After his deat...
