Picture of my betta's disease - http://i.imgur.com/S7yvy.png
My "new" betta Sid (had him for a month now) is now dying. His fins are looking crap. Where his fin & body meet, there is a crusty white line. From there, on his body, he is looking like he's been burned, or something. Almost his entire lower body is brownish. It's shiny, and at the edge of the area...

Aquariest Community
My husband and I were talking about how we've never encountered any groups of animal lovers quite like aquariests. We're stunned by the lengths that dedicated fish lovers go to simply to assist one another. You don't find that on sites dedicated to other animals, not even rescue organizations. If yo...

Wow, that is SUCH a great article in your fish newspaper!!! And that one pic of the male bn, his bristles are crazy lol! I never knew that THAT is how they're supposed to look, never having seen one mature.
You write so eloquently, I loved reading your article. Thanks for the link!!!

Ich - Dormant state or no?
Hi Diana, I am so glad that you brought that up! I am such a newcomer to all of this. BUT I thought it odd that Ich needs a host to live, and as such, will die without a way to propagate, within a week or so. So that leaves me asking...how the heck is ich present "in most tanks all the time"? I read...

Its a boy!(?)
Upon close examination of our bn pleco tonight, my husband exclaimed in delight. All around his mouth, there are TINY little bristle thingies! So, if only boys get them at all, it is a male! If they both do, and the females are just smaller...well....we still don't know then lol. Still. My husband w...

Dead loach
This morning I found one of our new golden dojo's dead. It was the smaller of the two we'd bought, and I have to say I wondered about his health. I also don't know if I EVER saw him eat. The others are fat and voracious...quite a few times this week, I THOUGHT this little guy was dead, only to have ...

Goldens
They are still really leary of me...the one we've had for a couple of months isn't usually freaked out when I walk by anymore, but the other two new ones are. Rarely can I even drop worms in the tank if they are on the top, it will scare them right back down... My betta, however, will jump out of th...
