Re: Different growth rate in the “teensy” clowns
I like your thought about the males vs females growth rate. The smaller teensy took the longest to settle in, too. They were not quarantined—it was the plop in and pray method. I didn’t add an ich med or anything. In fact I just read my notes to confirm that. They were added 11/3. The good news is m...

Re: Different growth rate in the “teensy” clowns
One of the teensies, the smaller one, was flashing. I had done a regularly scheduled water change and he flashed that day. I waited, and he flashed more the next day. So I Praziproed. I don’t remember if I did a Kusuri dose with the teensies. I don’t think I did. I did after I transferred the tank i...

Re: Different growth rate in the “teensy” clowns
Prazipro is safe and can be used as a preventative. I’m using it as both right now. I see a problem that I don’t want to get out of control. Kusuri can be used monthly as well and is also safe. I don’t, however, use either as a prophylactic. So, no, I don’t think I’m overmedicating.

Different growth rate in the “teensy” clowns
Now that the smaller of the two clowns is much more confident being out and about, clearly he’s growing at a much slower pace. I noticed yesterday he was flashing a little and today it’s a bit more, so I’m going to dose with Prazipro. Here are the side by side comparisons: https://i.postimg.cc/Z98BX...

Re: Video of clowns
Thank you.
They are slim bodied. The significant protrusion looks like it came on overnight— especially when I sit at the tank at least once a day to observe all members.

Re: Video of clowns
Dead calcified worm??? Where would that come from?
The mouth has been an issue well before the lump. The lump seemed to have come out of nowhere right after Christmas—like from nothing to WTF!
Maybe the fact that it came on so quickly could be a clue.

Re: Video of clowns
It’s ok. I know the problem can’t be solved. Maybe someone has seen something similar, like you, and your cory went on for quite some time. Hopefully the same goes for the silver dollar. I did a couple salt treatments with a good ten days in between. A yo-yo started flashing so I did a water change ...

Re: My clown loach pond
Your clowns look great, Loach. I was watching a video on sexing clowns awhile ago. I had a general idea of how to distinguish males and females but got a better understanding after the video. In your last photo the large clown up front is FAT. Hard to tell if it’s male or female. You would think the...

Video of clowns
The “teensies” are getting larger—especially the more dominant one which has grown much more than the smaller teensy ( do you think the smaller one is stunted? ). Good news is the littlest is becoming more confident and spending much more time out. In fact I have seen a standoff between the two teen...

I just have the FX6 running only and each basket is filled to the brim with Matrix. My hope is that there is enough media to keep nitrate at bay all the time—at least under 10 ppm. Water changes would be done every couple weeks to keep parameters stable. This is my hope.

Re: Silver Dollar Mouth
Yes it could very well be that. I think it has gotten a little worse. But yes, honestly there has been some type of protrusion there for quite some time, and the fish was extremely active and normal throughout that period. Something happened over the last month month and a half. Thank you for contin...
