I can edit this one. but not others??? Hmmn, how strange. Maybe you can only edit your posts that happened after the upgrade? (Or discus...

I wondered what happened. I was right in the middle of a very large post and had to do it over.
Sorry Jim! You probably could have just hit the back button on your web browser and copied the text into Word for safekeeping...

Forum Upgrade

Hi,

The forum was down for a few minutes this afternoon for me to apply some minor updates. Please let me know if you notice any quicks in the new system. I'm not anticipating any visible differences.

Thanks!

Did I miss the fun? I've been clicking around and can't find an example of this problem to troubleshoot. The forum code itself seems safe and unchanged in the last year or so.

Edit: I'm browsing in both I.E. and Firefox, in case one or the other is hiding these issues.

Hi Martin, the last updates I did were on September 2nd, so anything added since then still needs to be done. I log in periodically and do these updates in batches and will try to do the next one soon. Regarding videos, I was hoping that the new version of the software would provide a better built-i...

Wow, 158 users at one time! That's pretty good. :D You get that error message when there are more than 15 users manipulating the forum (loading a page, posting a new message) at the same instant of time. Just sitting and reading a page doesn't count as "doing something". So, I guess it takes about 1...

Well, this certainly qualifies as the longest post ever! (In fact, it was too long and exceeded the maximum post length, so the end got cut off) YellowFinned, it wasn't the best idea to post dozens and dozens of full-sized images on a single page. I modified your post to use smaller thumbnail images...

Jeff, I put a news item (pretty much similar to my above post) in (I thought) the news section, but it doesn't come up. I can't work out exactly where it is apart from being visible in the changes column. Can you PM me (or mail me) how to place news items for future reference? Martin. Only Publishe...

I've been a busy-bunny. As of 14:40 EST today, there are 989 photographs uploaded onto the new site just in the Species Profiles files. There are additional photos stored elsewhere which illustrate articles. I have (I believe) now extricated all the best existing Species Index photos. Probably the ...

It's sorted now, although I haven't got my email confirmation and activation yet.
With the escalating war between spammers and spam filters, it's a wonder anyone receives any emails anymore. Check your junk box if you have one. If not, I'll manually activate you.

Re: LOL Community Edition

First I tried to log in using my existing LOL forum details (made sure my cookies were enabled). Every time it just brought back up a blank log in screen. Then I thought that I might need to register anew seeing as though it is a separate site. It told me the The.Dark.One was already taken! There i...

Went to log in today and it wouldnt let me, tried to re-register but said I already existed! Is it just moderators that can log in at the moment? I'm sorry to hear you had problems logging in. I'm going to need more information to help you, though, since I was able to create a new test account with...
