Re: Metronidazole Advice?
I have found prazi-pro to be a pretty helpful antiparasitic that the fish tolerate quite well (I have used it in a number of loach containing tanks and no problems there). I will do food with levamisole (ordered it from "fish PHarmaceuticals", and then follow with a treatment of prazipro as part of ...

Re: Finally got Dwarf Chain Loaches
NICE! I crave some of those! They can be expensive here (since I have to order online to get anything remotely different) They were $19.99 then $20 for shipping!!!! I love the video of them schooling together. I am cycling a tank now to isolate/treat a new batch of fish that I hope to add soon. Now ...

Re: Tank setup help
My FAVORITE part about tank set up at this point in the hobby, is the planning. ...too many times have I gotten all excited and did things in a rush, only to regret a choice of decoration, plant or, even worse, a fish choice. I simply CANNOT take them back, so must find a way to keep all my fish. Th...

Re: Canister filter set-up
I have a rena filstar canister on my 55g, and have gotten fry out of the bottom of it several times. I do not use carbon, but do use bioballs and just microfiltration pads. The babes were at the very bottom: I imagine the eggs got sucked up and then hatched in the bottom of the filter. The fry are g...

Re: Baby Kuhli Loaches
yeah! babies!!!
I love my kuhlis, and see that yours must be VERY happy.
Thanks for posting the pics. I will be interested in seeing how those "eggs" play out. I have no idea what their eggs look like, but from the photos, that is certainly promising.

Hey, I was in Petsmart Today (yukk, but I needed some stuff and couldn't wait on mail order) anyway, I always cruise the fish tanks to see what they have, and the botia striata were on sale for ONE DOLLAR each!!!!!! They were sold out at that particular Petsmart and let's face it, you would need to ...

Re: confessions and aspirations of a lazy fishkeeper
YEAH!!!
done. Sounds like the loaches are loving it. I think they do respond to a change in environment.
It also sounds like your "to do " list is going to be very good for the tanks, I just LOVE ottos! little silent worker-bee fishes.
I hope you get a chance to post some pics!!

Yes, still interested in fish stores in NC/Raleigh area. I actually live about an hour to the West of there, but would drive if I could actually go to fish store. Thanks for any help!

Re: Mudskipper paludarium- an alternative solution
this is one of my favorite threads. I show it to people all the time when I want to show them something really cool, and about what I might try someday. The combination of above water life and underwater life in the same set up is really, really beautiful. Those plants are BEAUTIFUl, but I like the ...
