Re: Share your Loach Movies!
Thank you, Jim. Yes, all of them are getting bigger and I have a 240 gallon on order (should be here next week). I am kind of scared thinking about moving them (because of past history), but I am going to go very slow in the move from one tank to the other. I knot they will be a lot happier in the n...

Re: would loaches be a good idea?
IMO, it would not be good for the loaches. Use bait to catch the snails to get rid of them.

Very nice and great idea. Looks like it does not hurt the loach in any way.

Re: Update with good news, and maybe some bad news
Things have settled down here. I just moved the 15 loaches from the q-tank back to the main tanks. They all look fine and are getting their 1st meal in 5 days. Hopefully all the drama is over. Great news... One good thing that came out of this is that I did build a new handy PVC loach trap to catch...

Re: Update with good news, and maybe some bad news
Only experience I have had with loach mucus is when my 125 started leaking and I had to (in a hurry) net my fish out and put them in a 35 gallon plastic bin. Only the clowns gave off the mucus when I netted them. It was a mess. When I move them from the 125 into their new 240 gallon home I am going ...

Re: 75 gallon tank with clown loaches
Also on that website: A tank with base measurements of 180(70.8") ∗ 60 cm or equivalent is the absolute minimum required to house a group, and young specimens should only be grown on in smaller aquaria if several partial water changes are conducted each week.

Re: 75 gallon tank with clown loaches
Welcome to the forum. Clowns do need 5-6 in a group, but not for the the size aquarium that you have. Clowns get much too large for a 75 gallon tank. You might get by for a year, if they are the only fish in the tank. They need a long length tank to swim in with a min of six feet. You might like to ...

Re: Anyone only have 1 Clown Loach?
Well the temperature in my tank is normally about 78.8, 79 max and ... 78.8? That is really getting it down to the nth of a degree. Can I ask what kind (brand) of thermometer you are using for your fish tanks? I have five tanks and three of them have the same type of thermometer. None of the five t...

Re: Anyone only have 1 Clown Loach?
With proper care you can keep 3 German Shepherds in a 4'x4' pet enclosure. But, that doe not mean that you should.Arden wrote:With proper care and filtration a standard 55 gallon tank can hold 3 clown loaches. At this your stocked to 96%. ideally you would not add anymore bottom dwellers.
