Oldest Clown Loach now 26 years old

I'm up before 7am on New Year's Day to continue my annual ritual of posting a pic of my Clown Loach, Anthia, who is now 26 years old!

Re: what happened to Crowland Maidenhead aquatics?

Yes you could be right. It pre-dates my occupation on this forum but I seem to remember that our Clown Loach Queen Emma Turner and her partner may have run it. So I see the significance. It was near Peterborough where there is also a newer posher shop open. My local Maidenhead is in a garden centre ...

Re: Hillstream loach / Sewellia Linoleata disease

HI, I never had one of these that had a disease. My only problem was with mine escaping from the tank (before I plugged the tiny gap in the corner). The other one lived for 12 years in that tank. But posting a picture is a good idea. For image upload open an account with the below, free uploads. htt...

Re: been gone a long time... 2007...

Yes fewer stores with Loaches, but fewer stores to tell me I only need a 3ft aquarium for Clown Loaches and you only really need 1 for snail eating duties! Forums soon put people on the right path, though a few myths persist.

Re: been gone a long time... 2007...

As you say Erik, sickening. I'm so lucky that I haven't yet had such a catastrophe and have had my Clowns for 25 years. I joined this forum in 2010 after Emma Turner had implemented a revolution for Loach keeping by explaining the issues and writing in Practical Fishkeeping etc. Suddenly we loners h...

Great video but this is so tragic. My condolances.

I am so grateful I have not suffered in this way so far.

Re: Dwarf Chain Loaches Nipping

I came to the conclusion that the nippy Sids were probably very hungry (starving).

Re: Back at 'er

Hi andyroo and welcome back. The forum is rather quiet these days, almost fossilised, and could not be described as "vibrant" as your tank. Past mistakes are allowed to live on without correction and spammers seem the most frequent callers but it does hold a bank of useful information which is mostl...

Re: how to feed yoyo loaches cucumber

I use a screwcumber. It is rounded with no sharp edges, made of stainless steel so is corrosion resistant and heavy and resembles a spring. It can be screwed into cucumber, courgette/zucchini etc. Recommended.

Re: Video of my Botia dario

Nice fish. Compared to Clown Loaches the video appeared as though it was speeded up and there were too many stripes for me to handle!
