if you want to stick with an HOB then get aquaclear brand. They are the best hands down as they have large media capacity and the ability to use practically any type of media you want. ( any no finicky moving parts) If you want to go high tech as in canister go for eheim they are $$ but rock solid r...

He Mark! re loach watch
Thanks marks! I could not resist and poicked some of the blue gastros you let me know about. They are beautiful and look like maybe I got a m&f pair if the nose tuburcles are an indicator like chenis. They are already chowing on algae after 10 mins of being my R/T. Any idea what species they are off...

Weather loaches are really a cold water fish. . I would add a few more yoyo's instead or 3 or more striatas, kubotais, darios or histrionica. In act that list will do well all togeher(ie the dream team). Btw I have 7 adult yoyo's in my 75G they get along fine and are out a fair bit. Snce you have ha...

RIP
Lost two fish today, kind of forgot what it feels like as it has been a long time.. While doing a reno on my rivertank I noticed one of the new adopted yoyo's was missing. I found him inside the last stupid hollow resin log I own. He had trapped himself and was already decomposed so badly that I jus...

However my rivertank with two ac200's and one 369gph powerhead powering a spray bar is very low in Maintenance. I have no problem growing cabomba, java ferns and java moss ,rotala indica and hygrophylia augusta...

Mark ,Well I didn't mean Kuhli's and yoyo's in the same tank.Just kuhli's and some dithers like harlequins rasboras or something else not to big. I was more referring the to bioload capacity in regards to the inch per gallon rule of the tank not so much the social requirements. But still Maybe I'm w...

Mikev The Inch/ gallon rule is very loose concept. A 10 ich oscar in a 10G tank would not be the same as 5 2inch kuhlies. A slender bodied fish like kuhlies really have very little bioload impact. I would ime estimate more 3 inch per gallon for kuhlis as they really don't eat enough to produce a siz...
