For kuhli's the one inch per gallon rule it is null since they are so skinny.
Easily 10-15 kuhli's in a 30G. Yoyo's tend to slow at 4 inches so even 3 in a 33 is ok.

If you mean striatas, then yes. They tend to be very peacefull.
The "dream team" imo is clowns, striatas, histrionicas, yoyo's and kubotais.
All these botias will get along with no trouble together in the proper sized tank like a 75G.

I vote for troupe. Since clowns travel in groups have a " sense" of humor (anthropomorphizing?) and seem to like to entertain anybody who will watch them. Just like a travelling circus with clowns.

Thanks I just got home to find the little bugger dug up all the plants in the tank whilst I was at work today. They are qt in my almost hillstreamless :( rivertank. The tank is at ambient temp , but in my basement. The yoyo's seem to really enjoy the jacuzzi they've got in there. I think maybe the f...

Thanks guys. So far I have a lot of odd behaviour. They are very active so it's been tough to get any shots. Here is the best one so far. Notice how fat the one is . They cleaned out a 25 gallon of snails pretty quickly. The 25's substrate looked like it was at 20% snail shells... http://www.members...

Of all the loaches I have yoyo's seem to grow the fastest by far so. All my first yoyo's (the group of 7) were less than an inch when I got them. After two years they were a little over 3 inches. The older ones are better looking. Here's a pic of one of my older ones. The yoyos here in dallas are so...

got some new botia almorhaes tonight!

Just picked two 3-4 inch very fat and happy almorhae's from a bcaquaria member. he had got them to clean up his snail problem. It would seem that enjoyed their job too well. No more snails so they got "let go". Anyhow 3.00 each was a great bargain bringing me up to 9 yoyo's. They are in qt now I'll ...

I had seen the rena ones but they were not as lon as the marineland ones so that is what I got. Here it is. Next I am building a java fern back wall with plastic landcape mesh. That way the rocks get more light to grow algae which should force the hillies to eat there as long as I keep the glass cle...

No problem, I did not pick/up any. I want some cheni's or something along that line. I am already adopting two 3-4 inch yoyo's from a mod at bcaquaria.com on friday. That brings my yoyo's up to a massive pack of 9. That's it no more botias for me. I really want to build on my R/T now. Next is the ja...

rivertank air stone mod

My rivertank uses just powerhead but it's beastly 369gph so the output is fed into a diy 7/8inch 8 inch long spray bar providing quite a bit of wide current. No proper way to add into the powerhead so today I picked up 7 inch bubble bar and zip tied it to the bottom of the spray bar. Works like a ch...
