Knowing is one to avoid. My wife heard some review that said this was a smart and well done sci fi story so she wanted to give it a try. I'm leery of any serious move with Nicolas Cage. We should have gone with my gut feelings and skipped it. Horrible acting, stupid story, poorly done visual effect...

Our satellite provider recently gave us 3 months of Showtime and it has pretty much shown us why we would never actually pay money for their programming. The one good thing that came out of it is that we saw a few episodes of Dexter. We liked what we saw so we rented Season 1. We're about half way t...

I suspect that Dave can find it on line somewhere, but your connection will be too slow. It's an NFB/French production... I'm guessing that the one thing Monsanto can do in its defense (and would do, after seeing the film) is to have its distribution made limited. Here it is... http://video.google....

You should rent the DVD for The World According to Monsanto , if it happens to be in your rental store. Not a happy picture, but after watching it, getting other people to watch it seems urgent - and not in the global warming way. I've recommended The Corporation , which is a great film about how c...

I've posted my rib recipe in here before but I tried something new tonight that turned out really well. I'd made pina coladas a couple of nights ago and had some leftover cream of coconut. When I grabbed the BBQ sauce I noticed the leftover cream of coconut and wondered how it would taste on the rib...

My wife is out of town for a few days and since she hates onions and I love them, my dinners have all been heavy on onions. I figured this was the perfect chance to try out a batch of Onion Chowder. Lots of onions and bacon. How could I go wrong? I used yellow onions, double the cheese and mixed the...

The first ten minutes were a bit irritating - I don't know why he kept that animation, the video game thing... But by the end it's actually quite moving. Glad you liked it. I enjoyed the animation but I also enjoy playing video games so I could relate to the parody. I found myself watching (actuall...

I just watched Where in the World is Osama bin Laden . Very clever and very bold. I'd like to say it's a worthy outing just because the broad light it shines on Islam is full of surprises. Morgan Spurlock has moxie. I like that in his two films. There is a kind of built-in frustration, though. Whet...
