Congratulations Val!!! Excellent selection for your clowns, they should be very happy together! Glad they are doing good! The Brochis splendens are busy little guys and should be out and about keeping your tank bottom nice and clean for you, and the clowns will probably join right in with them. Enjo...

I think any vendor would be able to carry them, it would be the breeders that would pay the licensing fees for the right to breed the fish using the patented technology and possibly I assume a per fish royalty.

BotiaMaximus.. have a loot here to see what we are up against.. http://www.perthcichlid.com.au/forum/index.php?showtopic=20326 Cheers Brian Thanks for the link Brian. Those regs don't look too far off from what is on the table here in the US. The invasive species problem is at the heart of it, we h...

Thomas the videos are excellent for internet quality and your macro lens works very well. Thanks for the informative and entertaining videos. I love the smithi feeding vid! He hunts like lizard - very entertaining, and a fish I wish I could accommodate. Unfortunately any of the colder water species ...

Topline, we've got some regs heading our way that are going to make the importing here tougher as well. Part of it is needed - I have a backyard full of cane-toads myself now. I new Australia and New Zealand had some tough rules, but not that tough. How do they allow clowns, but not striata? Is it j...

Thanks Chef! It doesn't look any worse this morning. I'm going to do another water change again today on that tank. That will be 120 gal through a 75 in 2 days that's about as fresh as it can get. I'm really hoping it is an injury and is in the healing process, which today with the help of some sunl...

Striata with white eye - need help

Just noticed today after doing a water change that one of my striata has a white layer over his right eye. It looks like a film covering it. Not really fuzzy, but not just the center of his his eye. I can't tell if it is damage from a fight or accident, or if it is a disease or infection. I am inclu...

They are certainly beauties, and rare as well. I would love to have some, but for their happiness would not consider having less than 5. A new tank setup plus 5 of them is just not wise use of funds in this economy. :( :(

That's even better - I cant remember where I saw them, just happy to see I could get them by mail since local obviously isn't going to happen. When I move the grow-outs up, the 30 in my bedroom could make a nice permanent home for a small shoal of sids 10-12 of them I think would work. It's filterin...

WoW    Thanks Mick! At least I know what I'm in for. I hadn't expected to see some so soon if at all available in the US, took me by surprise. Thought maybe I could put together a tank for them quick but that price is out of reach for me at the moment. I saw that I could get sid...

Thanks Casey - I'll give that a try! Fresh coconut is the only way I like to eat them, just never tried keeping the shell intact. I always broke them into pieces and started snacking! Yummy!

He looks pretty good! That abrasion doesn't look too bad, I would think as long as it doesn't worsen he should be fine. If it starts getting redder then maybe you might have to swab it with some antibiotic, but I think he will heal up on his own. Good Pictures! Is that one of those bamboo shrimps ba...

I did chefkeith's salt treatment from his homepage on my two tanks as a prophylactic treatment for parasites once I got them fully stocked and it went without any troubles or signs of stress to the fish. The last fish I added were 5 kubs and after a few days in the tank I saw them flash a couple tim...
