Thanks for the review!
I have Professional Blue nitrate reducer pads in my Fluval 406. The same as your experience, it took several weeks to see a decrease.
So I’m about to add them to the HOB on my 40g also.

What else should I feed my sids?
They are eating Hikari algae wafers. And I *think* they are eating the thawed baby brine shrimp. Didn’t realize those things were so tiny. So after I thaw them and syringe them into the tank, I do see the sids get more active and start rooting around the substrate and rock and plants. I also have Oc...

Re: Talk to me of sidthimunki
Exactly Nancy. Which is why I decided to not get another shark. I can say that I would have plans to update but I really like my 40 g and don’t want to add another tank for the shark as it matures. But I now have 10 sids in my 10g quarantine. They are so cute! And a few are quite tiny. What sold me ...

Re: Talk to me of sidthimunki
Thank you Bas Pels.
The 40 g was a free tank and it came with the gravel so that’s how I set it up. But I’ve been thinking of changing it to sand anyway.
My LFS also mentioned they have Botia dario in stock. I’m just going to take a drive down there today and have a look!

Talk to me of sidthimunki
On my regular call to my one LFS, the guy told me no Histrionicas in stock yet but that he has about 50-60 sids in stock. I told him I have my heart set on Histrionicas for my 75. But, I have my 40 breeder. Hmmm. It was stocked with a RTBS and 8 scissortail rasboras. The shark was a small juvenile. ...

I was wondering if there was a “season”.
Cool.
Cool.

Re: Burmese Confusion
I’m certainly no expert but that looks like Botia Kubatoi. I’ve also seen Botia Histrionica called Burmese or Burmese Border loach. The common names can get so confusing!
Hopefully the experts will chime in soon!

Re: Share your Loach Movies!
Thank you! Before this, I had a 4 foot tank that wasn't really big enough for yoyo loaches, but at that point they were still growing. And then the middle brace broke! I couldn't fill the tank more than half way without the sides bowing out. I decided that enough was enough, no more second hand tan...

Re: Quarantine tank
Thanks!!
I just ordered Prazipro which is praziquantel. So hopefully, that is adequate. If I have any issues after that, I will be sure to post!

Re: 55g tank, potential more stocking?
Any suggestions for an easy care plant that does this? I don’t want to get into adding CO2 but I do use root tabs under my current plants.

Re: Share your Loach Movies!
I saw a lot of chasing and circling activity in my yoyo loaches and I almost forgot to grab a camera to record it! I've never seen them do this before, got them as finger sized juveniles in april of last year so I don't think they'd be as old as 2 years yet. Going by the stomach size I have 4 femal...

Re: 55g tank, potential more stocking?
I’m not good at stocking so I would be of little assistance. 🙂 I’ve gone by aqadvisor for my stocking and tend to be very conservative to minimize water changes. I have 2 groups of barbs in the tank that I plan to stock with loaches; 8 tiger barbs and 6 golden barbs. And they all swim together. My t...
