Welcome aboard, Angela :D I'm in San Diego, but it's suprising how FEW So Cal people are on boards like this...at least so I've found out over the last few years :? To try and help with your substrate question, I have just about everything in my 11 tanks....light sand, black sand, mixes of both sand...

Well, maybe it was all the good thoughts and prayers....or it could have been the water changes ;) But Albert is back to normal :D :D :D He actually joined in the dance for breakfast. First time since this started, so I was VERY VERY HAPPY this morning   Thanks to everyone here for...

Thanks everyone :) He seemed a bit better again this morning. He hasn't eaten that I've seen (but a couple days isn't gonna hurt), but he doesn't seem to be having as much trouble staying upright and on the bottom. Last night the panting totally went away, but he's breathing a little fast this morni...

They are Pomecea Briggesii (I think that's spelt right??) and will be fine with your Dojos :)

I kept mine together for a long time with no issues except the snails would get pushed around once in a while

Well, I'm about to do the water change, but, good news....at least it looks like it. Albert is looking better :) He is not as red or swollen at his vent. He is still breathing sort of rought and fast, and he still seems to be having balance issues, but he's not upside down :) I'm going to go do the ...

Thank you ALL for the insights and suggestions. Shari, he DID pig out on the bottom feeder tablets I put in there the other night..... :?: He doesn't seem any worse this morning, although I can't get a good look at him. He's insisting on staying behind a large flat rock that leans up against the bac...

I don't see anything visible wrong except that. He doesn't look swolen, bloated, red, discolored, cut, or anything, just the protrusion of the anus and the lump there. His tank lights just went off, so I'll let him rest for the night and give him a good once over before work in the morning. I'm so w...

Thanks, Shari. Ummmmm, don't know of anything in that tank that he could have eaten??? I did a big water change and cleaned the filter last Wednesday, but I haven't added anything to the tank, including fish??? I think he's against the heater just because it's there. That tank is at 80F, which is no...
