Every night I find it's so hard to sleep and I cry for my poor clown loach.

Re: A new food

Thank you for taking the trouble to type that reply and it is certainly food for thought, I have thought similar when I see Piranha keepers feeding their fish with small mammals, so unbelievable cruel. I only give them very small pieces and they really love it. not wishing to sound facetious but sha...

A new food

Along with their usual pellets or flakes or Repashy soilent green and also grub pie, l have started giving my Weather loaches and also my pictus catfish some strips of raw minced beef, they absolutely love it, the gourami eats it from my fingers.

Anyone else keep them? I now have 4 sharing a tank with a single opaline gourami. They all seem to eat anything offered, the gourami eats from my fingers.

Re: Black Algae

Oh thanks for that suggestion, I didn't really want to increase the bio load but some good cleaners would certainly be useful. The tank is unheated so tends to be whatever the ambient temperature is which at the moment is 79F. How many would I need for 4ft tank, would 3 be enough? would they be OK w...

Black Algae

I've got it growing all over the leaves of a large Anubias, plant which is growing well attached to a large rock so I cant take it out easily to clean the leaves. How do I get rid of it, it is in the weather loach tank.

Re: How to clean sand substrate ?

If you don't move the sand around won't you get anaerobic bacteria in it? I also have a large Fluval interior filter and sand gets sucked into the bottom of that, I hate sand but it bugs me that the loaches would probably prefer it.
