Glass or Acrylic?

If it's acrylic, then it's easy to fix. Just get a piece of acrylic and some acrylic cement to patch it.

If it's glass, then it's going to be hard. IMO, just silicon over the crack won't have enough power to hold the glass from going horizontal (breaking).

FBF Q

Rave, thanks for the advice.

Just want to confirm that FB should be installed after the pump, right?
Pump pushing water into FB, and output goes back to tank.

240G is in the house

Tank moving was a big success! The instant I lifted the tank (with 2 other strongmen), was the moment I realized that this tank will never leave the house forever. Since it's too large/heavy to move around, I'll be doing all the cleaning and rework on the tank & stand inside the house :( Really tire...

Thanks chefkeith

Really happy to receive your advice, chefkeith. Filter: I'm actually an Eheim fan. I'm a bit worried to go with Fluval, but I believe 2 of those Fluval FX5 monsters should be sufficient. Otherwise, I'd have to go with something like 3 or 4 Eheim Pro 3, and have to skip lunch for several months. The ...

Bigpow's 240g Loach Tank

First of all, my apologies for posting a new topic on a subject that's probably been discussed a thousand times here at LOL. I tried my best searching for "large loach tank", "240gallon tank", "8ft tank" and only found a handful posts. I'm going to start a build on a 240g loach only tank. This is my...

excellent!

thanks for the inspiration.

I'm going to set-up a 240g loach tank in a month and currently researching all options.

This looks really complex and hard (since I know nothing about plumbing) - but definitely a thing to aspire to.

RIP

thanks for all the wishes.
Looks like the little guy took too much damage to begin with.

He fell asleep a few hours after his last meal yesterday.

still hanging in there

Thanks for all your cheers. My little guy is still fighting/won't give up. Today I managed to un-wrapped the spider web from his body (which he apparently able to got himself tangled into). He swam a little, had some frozen bloodworms, but still quite lethargic. Resting inside a breeder net, with th...

hoping for miraculous recovery

One of my baby loach decided to take a walk on the carpet for several minutes. When I realized it, he was already dried up and curled up. As I picked him up, he wiggled faintly. Hoping for the best, I put him back into the tank, inside a breeder net. That was last night. Today, he's still very shock...

ocean

I chatted with Justin (OA) a few weeks back, and he told me he won't order any hillstreams intentionally because he doesn't have any hillstream suitable tank at his store.

Keith, thanks for letting me know before I make my PVC soup.
By regular, you mean the standard white PVC (schedule 40/80)?

Dave Letterman should add these PVC pipes into his "Will it float?" feature

Bay Area, CA

Bay Area, CA. I had visited almost all LFS within 50miles for the last couple of weeks. I also asked a few stores about special orders, but no-onene seem to care. Probably not a big seller to most stores. Unfortunately, one of the good LFS, is so good that the owner told me he won't ever order them ...

hillstreams = seasonal fish?

I've been trying to find them lately at local stores without any luck.

Interestingly, a long while ago, I saw them almost everywhere.

Now I wonder, is it the time of the year that they're just hard to find?
Any known export ban from their country of origins?
