I have a sid shaped just like yours but no sign of "interesting behavior". She's one of my bigger ones but still under 2". She's been this way for at least 3 or 4 months without change. I have a smaller, less round but possible female that also has a lot the dark pattern below the lateral line like ...

What CanuckFish isn't saying is he wants to put these fish in a 10 gallon tank. In fact on fish geeks he said people at LOL even RECOMMENDED keeping rostratas in a 5g tank as they only get to 6cm!

NO, no, Jim I am in support of water fluoridation. Many more people, throughout history & prehistory, have died from poor oral health (& poor water quality too) than lived long enough to die from cancer. I thought it funny: years ago--leftist plot, now-- right wing conspiracy.

Man, this reminds me of childhood when some people thought fluoridation was a commie plot. I had thought the "red scare" days were over but since moving to MA it seems it is still a controversy in some towns. A good question on possible fish effects though now I'm imagining fishy dentistry...

I'm sorry too Martin. I agree with what you said about having trouble with a head count. Any more than than 8 or so & I'm unsure if they are missing or hiding or just too fast. It sounds like you're getting things back under control now.

Glad it's working for you, I first used it on a siphon with dangerously curious sids. You might want to look for plastic grid in craft stores (even walmart, called plastic needle point canvas) for a more fitted look. Comes in different grid sizes & even colors. People use it for all kinds of fish st...

Mike, sorry about your fish. I don't know if it will work on your powerhead but I've used the plastic mesh from bags that onions etc come in attached with a rubber band to restrict access to tubes. Not pretty though. (I also use it for algae scrubbing on glass)

Wow, those dose rates are much, much lower than Momfish used in the parasite section & very different than the rates I got looking through the archives. Momfish used 800mg/10gallons, Shari is doing ~60-70mg/10gallons. I know Momfish did the injectible form not the powder. I've seen anywhere from 1-2...

I would take the term "degrade" as meaning no longer effective as intended (for parasites) not necessarily turned innocuous. I perfer doing larger water changes.
Shari, thank you for taking the time to get an answer to the pH question.

Looks good Red! IME angels didn't work with clowns. The clowns would scare them, accidentally I think, in the night. Lots of splashing & hitting the lid. Tiger barbs love to nip angel fins.

Sorry it didn't work. It's a 1600 gallon planted tank being set up to house discus, 60+ denisoni barbs, striatas etc. The guy setting it up is invited to a party where Pink Floyd will perform. I just thought of you & Marge when I saw it.
