Hi everyone, I would like to use an external filter but am concerned that my corydoras pygmaeus would get into the intake pipe. I could cover it with nylon but then it wouldn't be able to take in debris from the tank, is there an external filter with a narrow slotted intake pipe? or any other ideas ...

OK, this may seem like a dumb question, but does anyone know what the difference is between the lava rocks that people use for BBQ's and the lava rock which I buy in the aquatic shop? There is a big difference in price!!
