Sheetrock putty dust.

I decided to do a little sanding in the bathroom this morning and forgot to shut the door. My 55 is right outside the bathroom, when I was done sanding I noticed that there was a very fine coating on the cover of the tank. I'm not sure how much may have gotten in the water but I'm pretty certain som...

I really like that yoyo, the markings are really neat. I wonder if when it is bigger if it will take on the more reticulated pattern or not. It kinda reminds me of my alpha male who does not have the reticulation.

I'm sorry about your kuhli's loachmom. I had a thermometer break on me before, and what a pain it was to get those stupid little pellets out. Eventually I just ended up getting a plastic cup and scooping out all the gravel out of the corner of the tank. What Diana says about metal and PH is an inter...

Congrats, that's so exciting. I have 8 blacks in a tank with a few ember tetras and I'm hoping to see some fry someday. That's if the eggs make it past the embers that is.

Thanks everyone. The anubias and java fern have been with the loaches for more then a year. When I set this tank up I moved those plants over with the fish also. The loaches have never bothered the anubias. I started with 2 small cuttings from another tank and the loaches have never touched them so ...

Here, finally is the pic I promised. Sorry it took so long, between mother-in-law and a friend going to the hospital and poor Rast having to go to the vet and getting more then half his tail amputated it has been rather hectic here and I forgot. Since I got the camera out to take pics of the pleco f...

I don't know if this would apply or not, but it has been found that fish with HITH sometimes have an internal parasite called Hexamita. The Hexamita will cause nutrient deficiency, which can lead to the HITH. Manual of Fish Health: Everything You Need to Know About Aquarium Fish, Their Environment a...

Got the tank setup last night. Took a while to transfer the stuff from the 29, move it and then fill the 55 and then 29 back up. My loaches were not very happy about spending time in a bucket. My big male was really unhappy, but it was his fault he jumped right back out of the bucket after I put him...

Went into town yesterday and bought my tank and stand :D Had the truck so only brought home the stand, going to borrow the in-laws vehicle and get the tank when the lfs opens this afternoon. While in town we stopped at the pool store and the only sand they carry has stuff added to it. Don't remember...

I edited my above post on the different meds to include what they treat for. Hope this clears things up a bit. Diana it would be easier to refer to the book and post on each individual case, but my internet access is my in-laws and my book is at home. Running back and forth would be a pain, but I gu...

Diana you are right the antibacterial and antibiotic are used interchangeably. It does not say if the med being used is for a gram positive or gram negative disease. But for each med it says what it treats best whether fin rot or body fungus, some of course are used for more then one. The same goes ...

This is going to be a sorta long post. I'm not totally sure if I can post this or not, but new it would help some people. If it turns out it can not be posted I'm sorry and ask that someone wipe it off the site. Here goes. This information was gathered from Manual of Fish Health: Everything You Need...
