That's encouraging - a comfortable temp overlap with the garras, hillies and able to keep some sids in there too. This is inspiring me greatly for my next tank.

Thanks for the great photos, info and inspiration!

Congrats Val!! :D

Glad they were still there for you. They look good, and the markings are unique! I'm sure they will fit right in with your growing family!

I share your love for them Charles. I also struggle with the ethics of fishkeeping at times. I love it, but I really don't want to be a part of anything that destroys such beautiful species and their habitat. Good luck finding the "recipe" and I look forward to reading your summary. I agree, it is ...

 OH BOY - That's a full on assault of the foulest kind! That was bad - good thing you had that window or you would not of made it. Heroic effort - looks good now. See you had to pull up some flooring, but if anything got under there that is the right way to do it. And you're remodeled now - t...

When that giardia goes into the cyst phase it seems nothing can get at it - nasty creepy little bastard for sure. I'm feeling fine, got on it this time mucho pronto - so it isn't so bad. I'm also going acidic and spicy on the diet to help make things unpleasant for them. Just put together a huge bat...

That sucks! Be damn careful cleaning that mess up and protect yourself - I know you have the know how. What a sh&*%$ty mess. I'm dealing with a possible effluent contamination of the drinking water going on at my place, after much head scratching for months now on my nitrite problem the pieces have ...

BGKs and loaches actually do fine together. I had clowns and a BGK in a tank together for nearly 8 years and the clowns slept in the BGK's tube with him. The BGK wasn't exactly happy about them sleeping in his tube, but the clowns would lay right up against him, in spite of the electrical field they...

Nothing like a scare like this to give us all the wake up call to remind us that we are all a blink away from being in the same predicament.

Glad everything turned out OK!! Must have been a long night for you.

Thanks for sharing the experience and emergency list.

Glad things are going OK so far. Are you out of work for the day to keep things going?

Must have been a helluva storm that came through!

A car battery and ac inverter setup could probably get you through the night with 1 pump and some air going? Walgreens and CVS have inverters.

I'd make the neighbors suffer till 10.

Good luck!!

Thank goodness yours started! I just tried mine out over the weekend for the impending hurricane season and couldn't get it to fire up. Should be an easy fix but obviously an important issue!

Hope your power comes up soon so you can shut that bugger back down.

No problem paying if they deliver on the quality and handle the fish well. I think it could actually be a bargain considering how much driving I've done only to find I'm in a area with no quality LFS's.

-Thanks MG
