Re: My quasi South-East Asia River Bottom tank
what a nice big tank! I think having a big group of rasporae is a great idea.
I like that they have plenty of swim space. Who cares if it is not TOTALLY asian, The fish do not know from where they come!
Keep posting pics!

Re: Intro and question for clown loach experts please :)
the only concern I have about depending on a canister filter for both filtration AND flow is that, depending on the piping INTO the tank from the can, you might lose flow if it was necessary to put in any elbows, or other turns on the way. For example, my sister has a reef tank set up with the sump ...

Re: Intro and question for clown loach experts please :)
I am also a fan of the canister filter idea, though I have got say I have not personally done the river manifold set up myself. I have several medium sized tanks (55g, 75g, 125 g) with a mixed bag of filtration: a wet-dry plus Rena Filstar canister on the 125g, a Rena filstar on the 75 g, a Rena fil...

Re: My Planted tank Journal (Yoyo Homeland)
Hi there! The tank is looking LOVELY!! If I put MY yoyo;s in there, there would totally wreck it!...and I imagine gobble up those beautiful little shrimp. They are boisterous fish and chase each other all around the tank. BTW, the gourami is really nice and looks very graceful. I recently got one an...

Re: New Loach Lover
i live in North CArolina, so am not sure if this is helpful, or not. If I were in your position, I would try petsolutions.com or Foster and Smith. they will sometimes have a "reasonable" loach collection, albeit a little pricey. Ordering online is not as fun as picking them up at your LFS. I have or...

Re: Stray Voltage: Grounding Rod or GFCI Experience?
it just seems strange to me that only one fish in the tank would be affected by stray voltage. If there were random shocks, wouldn't you think it would do that to ALL The fish? Makes me think there may be some other issue going on in the tank,,,maybe bullying by another fish or fishes? social issues...

Re: Unsuccessfull Botia kubotai keeping :(
yeah, tiger barbs are pretty, but man they can be mean little devils I like the idea or getting more ottos (they are pretty good at hiding if there are opportunities to hide). I have a 20L with raspora het, brilliant raspora and kuhli's. I guess I should say pangio, since they are striped, but some ...

Re: Is my tank too small?
I agree completely with Starsplitter. I started with a 29 gallon and was sold a clown loach since it "wouldn't get very big". Then, I found this site and started reading. There is so much bad information out there, and I really think a lot of the people who work at pet stores simply do not KNOW very...

Re: thoughts on levamisole
thanks for the reply I read the sticky that Martin had posted about treating skinny disease with this med, and at the end of that someone had emailed the author about losing all the fish in his/her tank as a result of that treatment. I guess if they had been really infested, the med COULD kill a fis...
