Great photos Donna! Every time you post, I want to start another tank with khulis. So far, I'm resisting, but I'm weakening.

I'm so sorry to hear the bad news concerning both your father and your clowns. Sometimes ich can be just devastating and nothing seems to stop it. We all wish you the best.

I am honored to be mentioned above and I second the statement that we love to see DIY projects here. We all benefit from any and all ideas.

How old are your loaches Clint? Just curious since my experience is that young loaches (the first 2 or 3 years) are almost always out, but as they get older they may become more reclusive.

Your heavily planted tank is certainly a very good thing.

Keep in mind that whatever you use, the best lighting for loaches is low lighting. With low lighting and lots of shaded areas they will be out and about a lot more.

Hi Wolfram, It is going well. I don't have any of the 2nd trial version, tightly wrapped sponges on pumps anymore. They all dramatically decreased the flow in 2 to 4 weeks. I really can't say exactly how much they reduced the flow since I did not take any measurements, but just felt the flow with my...

I would not add any more to a 20 gallon tank. What kind of loaches are they? 13 of even the smallest kinds of loaches would be pretty heavy stocking for a 20 gallon long. They need time to adjust to the new situation.

It also takes some time for loaches to adjust to new surroundings so the behavior that you are seeing in the first couple of weeks will most likely change, but not necessarily to what you had before.

My experience is that you do not need bubbles in order to get plenty of oxygen into the water. It is most likely more important to have the surface of your water rippling a bit. I have no bubbles in my tanks and the oxygen test kit that I have always says that my water is at maximum oxygen saturatio...
