Re: What temp is your dojo happy at?
Oy, I have so much to learn about fish! Thank you for your info! I will start lowering my tank gradually once I verify that all the fish in my tank can tolerate the colder temps (if not, well, I guess i have to get another aquarium.....hehe....). Again, thank you for sharing your knowledge with me s...

What temp is your dojo happy at?
I know there are experts and people with crazy experience here w/ these gorgeous little fish. I want to keep mine for A LONG time. Is my tank too warm? It's 75 ish lately (I don't mean that it fluctuates beyond 75, just that we had to raise the temp recently due to ich)... Someone mentioned that the...

Re: Ailing Dojo, is it time to give up on her...and euthaniz
You're right she's showing quite a few of these symptoms....the bent spine is kind of the clincher....today she's hiding in the corner and not even trying to move....

Update on Ailing Dojo, Fatso
My oldest (maybe 4 months now we've had the tank?) loach, a female dojo (fatso, we call her) is VERY, very sick. She's gotten this way the past three days, and it's honestly excruciating to watch... Symptoms: Cannot swim. By that, I mean, she can't use her fins at all? She uses her HEAD to anchor h...

Re: Ailing Dojo, is it time to give up on her...and euthaniz
Thank you, I am doing daily vacuums now, (well since the ich hit). Removing the charcoal filter might have thrown the tank into a tizzy? But that's where the cycled tank comes into play, yes? Which we have.....I am DEFINITELY keeping eyes on all the other fish, I always get a good look at them at le...

I think I got the idea to feed them by finger from you or Diana, not sure which, but thanks for the headsup. Never would have tried it before

new loaches
bought two new golden dojos, making it four total in our tank. The new ones are pretty young, and strengely trusting. I've been able to get them to eat out of my hand! So ticklish, and sooo cute!!! Now, the older loaches are seeing this and realizing that they're missing out on some tasty stuff. So ...

Snails
Hi all, what is a "kub" loach? I'm a newb with all the loach terminology :). Diana, I actually do squish the snails I can reach and let them fall to the gravel; the loaches now know that smell, and they're happily horking them down every time I can do that. My other fish are learning how tasty a "cr...

New Loach, what to get?
We've got a well established and healthy 55G. We have 2 Praecox rainbows, 1 danio, 6 neon tetras, 1 bn pleco, 2 dojos and 2 khulis. We also have a billion uninvited guests :). I was wondering what type of loaches I can get that do not get big, but will eat the snails? I know, clown loach, but those ...
