If you notice the fish with the tumor and you look at the upper lip, you will notice its whitish appearance as opposed to the others. Thank you, they have been healthy up until now and you’re right, it could very well be older age.
I will look into the product you suggest. Thank you again.

Re: Silver Dollar Mouth
Well, the fish is still surviving. Not thriving. It’s eating usually. Will come out for food but not being the aggressive eater that is typical of their kind. The upper lip area is still unhealed. It’s not fungus though. Inside the mouth doesn’t look as swollen. My guess is it suffered an injury ban...

Re: Happiness is: Now Video too
If I chose to feed shrimp I would do so in extremely small quantities. I’m sure the silver dollars will love it too.

OK. Thanks for checking in. With three HOB’s you probably have plenty of surface agitation. Maybe you will want the power head for below the surface to keep movement going. My focus has been on a sick or injured silver dollar but good news is it’s on the mend. Was worried for several days that I was...

Silver Dollar Mouth
https://youtu.be/RdQhZOTJwOg My silver dollar has an issue. Nothing can go smoothly. You think you have your tank under control and then something happens. My silver dollar is having a problem with its mouth. Opening and closing continually and the gills are moving more than the others. It’s isolati...

Re: Zebra loach acting aggressive
You have two bottom dwellers in a small space. Loaches need a group of their own kind to bicker with or they will
find someone to bother. Yes, tank is much too small and loaches need to be in groups.

Re: Fluval Fx 6
Now that I have had this filter for five months I think it is a huge waste of money and the trays do not hold as much media as they should. As far as the sand goes, I decided to take the motor apart and check the impeller and the sand amount was negligible. This was done a couple weeks ago and the f...

Re: Doing what I can for my fish—Video
Loachnoob, I got the smallest one, 1350, Gen 3. The reason being is I don’t have a long aquarium. 4 x 2 x 2. I certainly think it’s enough because I have it at the surface and it is breaking water at least halfway across the top and making waves halfway across. I think that is sufficient oxygen exch...

Yes higher temps less oxygen. And would that kill off anaerobic bacteria?

Re: Doing what I can for my fish—Video
Loachnoob thank you so much for your contribution. This helps me and I hope you get feedback too. I haven’t gotten much as you can see. It’s a busy time of year. I must say I do post in Fishlore forums too. I get more responses but not all quality replies like I get here (thinking of Nancy and Loach...

Re: Doing what I can for my fish—Video
Thanks, Fossphur for watching and replying. I’ve since added 11 small cherry barbs and they seem to do well when they stay away from the direct line of fire though they seem to go into a lot too. Yes the direction of the power head does turn. It’s actually magnetic but the cord is so tight that I’m ...

Re: PLANNED POWER OUTAGE
By the time they get to our building it’ll be closer to Christmas. Whatever happens, happens. I can only do what I can do. What’s going to happen when we have a winter storm and lose power? Same thing. If my fiancé can pull something off to keep power going, wonderful! Still hoping for that.

Re: PLANNED POWER OUTAGE
So the outage is starting through the buildings on DECEMBER 12th. I don’t know the exact day our bldg is affected but as I said or I think I said, I’d like to be home. I took the filter apart today. Rinsed everything. Checked out the impeller and everything looks great. That was a relief. Not having...

Re: PLANNED POWER OUTAGE
I was planning on opening up the filter and exposing it to air. That won’t make a difference? This place is VERY drafty. The windows are the original. I thought it was going to be nice and cool in summer and warm in winter on second floor but it isn’t. We don’t pay for the heat, we can crank it but ...

Doing what I can for my fish—Video
In an effort to be certain my fish are getting enough oxygen, I purchased a Hydor Koralia 3rd Gen to provide substantial surface agitation. I’m hoping I’m making this work in conjunction with the filter output and not causing crashing water movements. I’ve aimed the output hoses down and forward tow...
