Re: Weather Loach social requirements

You can mix it. Both are the same species, the golden are only a color variant of M. anguillicaudatus (Weather loach).

I would suggest you to take some more as only three.

Re: Can you help me ID my dojo loaches please

Hi,

First pic: on the left seems to be a skinny Misgurnus anguillicaudatus, right looks like a Paramisgurnus dabryanus. Both occurs together and comes often in mixed shipments in trade.

Yes, it is a Cobitis. Maybe it is the undescribed Taiwanese species that is sometimes in trade last few years.

Re: looking for info on barbatula barbatula

In german books about cold water fishes you can read that breeding of barbatula in aquariums is possible. Of course they need an overwintering. There are also pictures of spawning Barbatula. If you want to breed them, you need a group with both gender. I bet there aren't an exact sex ratio which cer...

Re: Can gold and pangio kuhli interbreed ?

Hi Karen,

You can take a look at the caudal fin, at Misgurnus it is outside rounded. You can see what I mean on this pic.

Pangio have always a bit concave caudal fins, at least (as I know) never convex.
