Off topic, but I really like that substrate you have them on. Might I ask what it is?

Re: plants with my clown?

Regarding the plants, I haven't had the best of luck with clowns and plants - what they don't eat, they dig up. BUT, I am going to try again - this time with java fern on driftwood, jungle val and nana val - I will let you know how that goes... Not sure about the fish mix, I had an SAE once, it ate ...

Re: Clowns, do they ever stop eating?

Sounds like you are feeding them a pretty good variety food, which is a very good thing :) As far as how often, try feeding 2 (3 if you can) times a day, in smaller amounts. I have started feeding mine once in the morning, once when I get home and then again right before I go to bed. Here is a reall...

Re: Powerhead & Clown Loaches.

I use these for main water movement: http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=21971 I use the 750 in my 125g, and I just bought a 1400 for my new 210g. I do leave them on all the time -- but when I feed cucumber or krill, I always have to clean them because the food gets...

Re: Camallanus Worms

You can get it online, Levamisole under the name Prohibit - here is one site that sells it http://www.cattlestore.com/p-1119-agri-laboratories-prohibit-soluble-drench.aspx that is what I used, as for shipping it to the UK, sorry can't help you there - they may or may not - I really don't know, I am ...

Re: Camallanus Worms

I'd go with the Levamisole - I have treated my clowns with it, with no ill effects. Try this: http://www.loaches.com/disease-treatmen ... chloride-1

Re: clown loach died, what treatment now?

1. What size tank? What filtration are you using? Water parems? 2. Cloudy water can mean bacterial bloom, which could either be a mini-cycle or mean that your tank is not fully cycled yet 3. Clown loaches are very sensitive to medications, not sure that I would have gone with something as strong as ...

Re: 10 clowns died in 3 days

Um. Well, nitrates are pretty high for any fish, don't think you really want to be above 50ppm at the MAX and clowns are really sensitive to water quality, with clowns 5ppm is really as high as you want to be. By slightly pale I am guessing they were grayed out? (that means they were stressed) Did y...

Re: Bloated CL with Protruding eyes

Sorry for my delayed 2 cents -- it almost sounds (sounded) like dropsy, caused by maybe a swelling organ. If the organ ruptured, that would explain the decrease in bloat and eyes but the appearance of the red in the abdomen. Also, just a side note: you said the clown was 10+ years old --- what size ...
